@mistMR Yeah, that's one of the only things I don't like about the M11x. However now that I'm taking my laptop to school everyday I'm wishing my laptop would be a LITTLE lighter! The M14x might be a good compromise since it has all four keyboard lighting zones.
@Xero852 I seriously considered going the m14x route, but the bugs in the first revision (massive heat, performance throttling on battery, hair dryer fans) put me off. If I go m14x, it will be the r2 or r3. Plus, got a bit of an attachment to this tiny alien :D
Thats the very first thing I did with my m15x. I made the keyboard scroll the rainbow! Wasn't that hard if you take 5 minutes to learn how the advanced setting on AlienFX works!
@CrAZy8Gaming I have no idea I don't have an M14x. However I actually asked an M14x owner to try out this theme recently, if he gets back to me I'll let you know!
@XSmexyLamaX Right-click and save the link instead of clicking it lol... Pretty basic stuff when dealing with text-based files. All that writing is the code used by AlienFX to make the theme work.
@Xero852 oh well nvm.. heres a tip to everyone with an m15x, if you reinstall windows DO NOT use the resource CD provided to get command center otherwise your lighting board breaks, i had to learn that the hard way -.-
@poophead156 If anything it's better for your lights, this way your lights are never displaying the same thing for to long. It's almost like a constant refresh for each light.
@farraden12 A better way is to just right-click the link I provided and use the "save-as" or "save link as" feature in your browser. This will save the ath file anywhere you want on your computer.
Try that first, if it doesn't work let me know what version of command center you're using. Or just update your BIOS and Command Center to the latest.
This is for the newer "All Powerful" series M15x laptops, not the older m15x (area-51/aurora)... In case you were trying to use it on an older one.
@farraden12 It's probably a little old, when I got my M15x is was two updates away from the latest BIOS and an update away from the latest Command Center.
@waihonh When i got to the link i just get some sh*tload of text, Just copy all of it > ctrl+A > ctrl+C..
And go to your documents where ur AlienFX themes show up. then select a useless one.. or create a useless one.. open it with wordpad. and replace all of the text into the text from the link...... that's how i did it :)
@Kemperkipie A better way is to just right-click the link I provided and use the "save-as" or "save link as" feature in your browser. This will save the ath file anywhere you want on your computer.
@KingOfKaB00M I would never buy a desktop from any company. It's really easy to build a computer once you get all the right components and it will save you hundreds of dollars to build it yourself.
I only recommend Alienware laptops, because you can build yourself a better desktop for the same price that Alienware asks for theirs.
@KingOfKaB00M Desktops are great, more powerful than a laptop for sure. I have a great desktop with three monitors hooked up for gaming and multi-tasking (check some of my other videos).
I'm just saying, you can build yourself a better desktop for the price Alienware will charge you.
@Shocktune Do you have the new "All Powerful" M15x or an older m15x (note the small "m")? The newer model command center is downloaded from the Dell Drivers & Downloads website. The older one is from Alienware Support.
@GUkraine I don't really see why, the AlienFX system just uses separate red, green, and blue LEDs to create the colors you use. Depending on the color each LED is at a different intensity or completely off, so technically each LED is using less power while morphing then it would if you just set it to one color (because then the LEDs would always be on that color, never changing).
I'm no expert on this stuff, but I know LEDs last forever anyhow. I wouldn't worry.
@ignace93 Alienware desktops aren't cheaper if that's what you were trying to point out... I completely agree with you if you're referring to building your own desktop for gaming, check out my other video called "My Triple Monitor Computer Setup"!
@Xero852 Lol, Alienware desktops are way too overpriced, that was what I meant. =P But they do have a nice design, but the market's full of nice design cases. Build your own ! It's cheaper & fun ! But watch a few assembling video's first. ;)
@Xero852 Yeah I already saw some of those movies. It seems great to have 3 24" screens, but I'm happy with my single 22". From the money I save I can buy other things, like a PC upgrade or something. :)
@Jonasskriver2660 People say Alienware computers are overpriced, I completely agree when talking about desktop computers. However I disagree when we start talking about laptops, and here's why:
Alienware not only uses the best hardware in their laptops but they also have (possibly) the BEST build quality. My M15x is ROCK SOLID, this is partly due to the (mostly) metal construction. The chassis of this laptop is almost all Aluminum or Magnesium. They also include "flashy" features lights.
@Xero852 That said, I highly suggest Alienware if you're looking to buy a powerful laptop for gaming, video editing, or any other type of resource intensive applications. Alienware laptops are also the easiest to upgrade, it's extremely easy to upgrade the Memory and Hard Drive. It's not much harder to upgrade the Processor or Graphics Card as long as you get a compatible part!
@Xero852 DO NOT buy Alienware desktop computers, they are overpriced and you can EASILY build a BETTER desktop yourself for cheaper. It's not hard to learn to build a computer either, just do some research and watch some video tutorials!
@MrUilimuilin It's a bunch of morphs, and yea I got the idea from the M17x video I saw on here.
My battery life is around 2 hours, significantly less if gaming or running other resource intensive applications. Stealth Mode only works when your laptop is plugged in, it's designed for lower power output AC plugs that you might find in airports or hotels.
@nzCONFL1CT If you have an M15x I could upload my AlienFX file for this theme if you want, you just need to have a new "All Powerful M15x" and not an Area51 m15x.
Here's a screenshot of my AlienFX setup so it makes more sense:
Amazing job! I'm enjoying this so much! thanks for sharing the code!
