I was getting some photos developed at a small photo print shop in Taipei, not long after the 1999/9/21 quake. A couple after me came to collect their photos. The shopkeeper gave them an extra, enlarged. They they said they'd not asked for enlargement. He said take a closer look. Standing on the dark clouds they'd photographed the night of the quake was a Mary / Guanyin with light rays emanating. Never hear further about it. Hard to imagine why a shop owner might hoax some random people...

I don't think it's a circumhorizontal arc, actually. There's something known as "Earthquake Lights". It's still unknown as to why it happens but it's definitely a thing (and if you look at all the info in the description, it's highly likely that this is that thing).

I don't think it's a circumhorizontal arc, actually. There's something known as "Earthquake Lights". It's still unknown as to why it happens but it's definitely a thing (and if you look at all the info in the description, it's highly likely that this is that thing).

Which is exactly what we're seeing.
That is, however, exactly what circumhorizon arcs look like.
Circumhorizon arcs only occur under special circumstances - the sun has to be higher than 58 degrees in the sky at the opposite side of the effect.

@vincent4500 based on your logic, you should believe the thousands of scientists and geologists with PHDs who deny evolution and say that the earth is only 10,000 years old. Theyre just a minority too. They claim they have REAL evidence and evolution is just a conspiracy. Quite a marginal position, and of course they belive they have the REAL answers and everyone else is just dumb. Conspiracy schizo sheeps are the same.
