  • Watching The Cecil being torn down this very moment. So far nothing as catastrophic.

  • @s4m2 Cool! Hopefully they won't be knocking any walls onto the streets.

  • they did the same thing to the other wall later on

  • they should fire those drivers. its a completely hazard to be dumping walls everywhere

  • Wow. It knocked the Street light out as well!

  • Close the road ,, whats wrong with you people , someone could have been Killed..

    Safety First .. ..

  • IDIOTS! I feel sorry for the street light :(

  • what are the cross streets

  • @canadiancatgreen The CBC article says Hornby Street and Helmcken Street. If you look on google street view, I think it's the William Davis Centre.

  • @canadiancatgreen Helmcken and Homer

  • @markus713 Helmcken and Hornby

  • hey! what band is that playing the background music??

  • @ponysoprano Sasquatch

  • It should be simple enough to find out what went wrong, all companies need to present WSBC with a 'Job Specifics Form' which outlines how a company is going to proceed with a job such as this. To all the people that are crying 'race issues here' you obviously haven't seen these east indian companies at work in the construction industry? Drive by a residential site and see their fall protection practices, there are none! Just a matter of time before people are killed cutting corners!

  • call icbc

    lol

  • I like how the backhoe drives off like "i didn't do it!!"

  • I sure hope William B. Davis wasn`t inside.

  • Gumbas....

  • Insane and sickening! this Company needs to go down!

  • Yay, my girlfriend is in this video. She's wearing the yellow skirt in the background. I'm famous!

  • Mayor Gregor Robertson too busy promoting Mixed Martial Arts punch up on Saturday to ensure City of Vancouver doing its job here . Looks like he took one to the head himself!

  • you should sell this video

  • @bishop529 - a little too late now :-)

  • when he took out the floor, he took away the wall supports. he should have taken down the wall first.

  • This is crazy!

  • I just love how they continue the demolition after the first wall collapses

  • what ever happened to common sense?

  • wow..

  • The traffic control person in the lower right corner is like "ooh, finally something exciting is happening!"

  • Sweet

  • Huh. Intersting fail.

  • I love it how the cat operator tuck tails and tries to run away from the accident in his cat at 5 km/h

  • Naw its not his fault it was already loose. hah

  • Look at the traffic light swinging when the wall comes down. What kills me, if you have seen the other two vids of this, is the workers just shrug it off, AND KEEP WORKING! It is lucky no one was hurt.

We see this "trend" in the crap houses going up in Tsawwassen. All construction poorly and cheaply done by EI crews, but expensively finished by Caucasian crews. Developers then asks almost $2 million for these pieces of garbage.

  • Who the fuck hired that guy?

  • If the City of Vancouver allows this company to continue operations, and if in the future these people cause injury or death, the City will be held equally vicariously liable for damages. The owners response to both walls collapsing on the street? Basically the media is making a big deal about nothing because there werent any fatalities. WTF???

  • The most epic of all fails.

  • No surprise this is a James Schouw project. He sells condos at high prices but cuts every corner possible including finding fly-by-night demolition companies. Would you really pay top dollar for anything he had a hand in constructing? This will just be the first of many subcontractors, but most will not make the news so you won't hear about them.

  • The company in charge of the epic fail was Global Excavation and Demolition, a Surrey, BC company, run by Jagjeet Singh Panesar and Karmjeet Singh Panesar. I wonder if they were using 3rd world style demolition techniques. Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

  • i love how the excavator just drives away after the wall falls

  • hahaha oh shi. when was this? i dont remember seeing it (i go through that intersection nearly every day!)

  • WTF was the demolition company thinking?????? safety last for this honcouver company

  • Lowest Bidder Wins!!!!!!

  • The fencing should've been several metres into the road, if they had taken into account the height of the building and prepared for human error. Safety, obviously, was not considered. Someone could've died here.

AND, the construction worker walks over the the black car, nonchalantly - it doesn't seem that he is even remotely concerned for the safety of the person(s) in that vehicle.

  • Lowest bidder always gets the job. Glad no one was hurt.

  • ya see what happens when you watch these home reno show's and actually have no experience! why didn't the gas main blow??

  • Real demo pros at work.... should have hired a few more young girls to direct traffic around the mess. Welcome to the new world.

  • Instead of stopping after the first collapse onto an open street to see whether there's a better way of approaching this demolition, this fool company keeps on smashing and risks everybody's safety, dropping another slab of concrete onto the other street? This driver needs to be fined, the supervisor taken out of the construction industry forever and the company have its license taken away. Will any of that happen? Having lived in Vancouver, I say with confidence: probably not.

  • this is common i'm afraid. i've seen runaway wrecking balls. the guys operating the shovels are cowboys who only laugh when this stuff happens. they get their licence by mail order.

  • That was the William Davis Acting school, 1104 Hornby. You know, Cancer man.

  • wooops!

  • omg did anyone see the Joke Owner trying to download play the event? Not only did the building collapse over the barrier once, it happned TWICE!

  • This is just so irresponsible. As others have said, they should have temporarily closed the street!

By the way, this video was better before you added the music!! The commentary was great!

  • The demolition was being carried out by Global Excavation and Demolition, a Surrey company incorporated in April 2007 and run by Jagjeet Singh Panesar and Karmjeet Singh Panesar.

  • What were they thinking?

  • instead of this job makin the company money it cost them money. lol the operator probly got blasted by the owner.

  • i just watched this on the news! un believeable.. more unbelieveable that the worker interviewed had a comment to the effect that he doesnt see what the problem is and the news people must be having a slow day to blow this out of proportion.. sheesh.

  • This doesn't show the second collapse, he actually knocked over the second wall ten minutes later. Skillz

  • Good on ya for uploading these.

These guys DON'T know how to do demo. AS A MINIMUM, they should have used cables around the horizontal bond beams on the external walls, tied of to structural supports inside the building, the minimizing the risk of any walls collapsing outward.

  • Booo, I missed the action. I saw some of it early on gettin demolished, but was on my lunch break and had to get food.

Kind of them to have left glass all over the sidewalk with no signs warning as such.

There was only one girl to ward pedestrians off of the sidewalk too, and she wasn't doin a very good job as people often went to their cars right in front of the building, and everyone was standing across the st taking videos with their phones haha.

  • awesome angle!!

    good work on this vid!

  • Notice how the street light JUST turned red? (by the car stopping) Imagine if it were green.

  • Hmm... uh... noob.

  • You gotta be here! (BC tourism slogan)

  • Oops. Guess demolition companies don't have the same intel that us fire guys do - stay a distance 1.5x the height of the building away (and make sure everyone else does the same)!

Also, when a building nearly falls on your car, for those who are playing at home, the proper response is NOT to stop your car right there and open the door!

  • @Jay91150 The wall has come down already so it is now safe to open the door and let the proper authority's to investigate the damages. Can't believe they didn't have that street closed off temporarily till the walls where down. Think safety, safety, safety.

  • weed smoking construction workers!!

  • Small company out of Surrey. Same quality.

  • These fukers could have killed someone.

  • Looks like standard operating procedure here in Thailand. Safety? What safety?

  • Wooooooooooooooooooooaaaaaaaah....... It went the wrong way! LOL

  • I like the way the excavator drives away super fast like "oh crap, I'm outta here!"

  • @mitchleblanc hahahaha i thought the exact same thing i thought he was all like ohhhh shit im out

  • The term, dumb shit, gets tossed around so much these days...

  • Get rid of the third world trash in city hall and third world trash wont be awarded city contracts.....

  • Holy shit! These guys have no idea what they're doing. Lucky nobody was hurt.

  • How do you fuck up something like this twice in such a short period of time?

  • major problems....CONSTRUCTION co. PWNED

  • WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAH is RIGHT!!!!!!!!

  • your average yahoo drinkin on the job

  • WHOOOooOOOOOoOOoOOOOOOAA

  • Hahahah.. FAIL.

  • Hope they loose their Permit....

  • Thank immigration Canada for allowing these 3rd world turds into Canada.

  • @jblackrupert,

    "turds"?

    Are you for real, buddy?

  • 1st world idiot.

  • oh gid! imagine the shock that person had in the car man!

  • OMG!!!! Real pro's!!!! I mean wtf!! This actually makes me ANGRY! F*ck man! How can you NOT see that coming!!!! Jesus almighty! I hope the guy driving that thing watches this and see's this.

If you don't know what your doing. And what your doing can cause bodily harm to people. STOP! You retard! Creationist can consider this proof that we indeed descend from monkeys. And some have a ways to go.

  • Hahahaha awesome!

  • Is this Helmcken and Hornby?!

  • The consequences of having stupid hicks run construction companies is that stupid hicks run construction companies :(

  • Thanks for posting. THis will be good for future safety meetings!

  • That's what you get for hiring "Two Small Guys with Big Drinking Problems Demolition".

  • That's what you get for hiring "Two Small Guys with Big Drinking Problems Demolition".

  • this demolition company should be sued for all damages and shut down for good. stupid South Indians running these companies who have no clue what they're doing

  • if i was the guy in that car i would be suing their asses off ,he was just feet from being killed. The city would be on the lawsuit as well.

  • IB4TL

  • Nice filming boys.

  • Yeah, operators should have brought the rig in front. A little nudge from the front would have sufficed.

  • Someone could get kill!

  • These people are over payed, and severely lacking time in school

  • Call ICBC..

  • I cant believe they didnt have the street temp closed.

  • this is crazy. imagine being in that car.

  • i think they need to go back to physics 101.

  • Fail!

  • Dangerous idiots!

  • Safety #FAIL

  • insane

  • 3 stooges

  • @0:24 Excavator operator: "Whoops, my bad, I'm goin' fer lunch".
