  • I have to agree this is amazing what care and love Bami and the others do for these beautiful Gorillas.I wish I wee rich cause I would love to help otut.

  • Atinbi, and myself share the same day of birth March 3rd. I would love to come and visit you soon for our birthdays....lol you people do AMAZING jobs, thank you all....

  • Very interesting video. Did Akiba start feeding the baby naturally after your first intervention?

  • for every african that takes care of wildlife theres a 1000 poaching them for pennies

  • I'm so happy the mother and baby are doing well. Thank you!

  • thank you limbe wildlife center for all you do to assist and care for this species that is struggling with survival. Mothers like her that have not been in the wild to see other females care for newborns do not themselves know what to do, had u not intervened her baby could have died or had to been hand raised by humans . Since you know what to do she has the chance to care for her own infant which is best. Thank you!

  • This is very awesome video!

  • I am against placing Gorilla's in cages. I know they belong in the wild, and we, humans have messed with the wild too much. I think this place takes care of Gorilla's that can not live in the wild. So what do we do, deny them the right to bear baby gorilla's. I think not, we must allow them to be gorilla's, even in captivity. Maybe one day we can fix what we have broken. .... until then we need places like this. If I am wrong about them being like a sanctuary, correct me.

  • What wonderful work you people are doing! I would give anything to come and see what you do to help preserve the gorillas in Cameroon.

  • Very interesting that they were able to resolve the problem of the baby not suckling without pulling her. Was this Akiba's first? If so, it's a big success. A job well done by Akiba and by the staff.

  • Oh....I'm so glad you where there

  • I don't think it's fair to put animals in cages, but I think it's less FAIR to hunt them to extinction for 1 or 2 parts and waste the rest.

If people could be trusted to respect creatures/beings in the wild there would be no need for zoos, cages, whatever.

  • @valhoundmom: Yea, about wild animals in captivity, it does seem somewhat inhuman to keep them in metal cages with concrete floors. Perhaps some straw beds for them?

  • @sixaremycharms your the one who keeps replying to me...so as you cant seem to get i would do anything in my power to help these animals, and say it to your face!!!darn to bad i don't have every dime it would take to prove facts!!do you want more publicity than this?i didn't think so all i said was this the way u see fit to give birth?if yes reply if not you don't have the privilege to text me back, loser u remain!!

  • @killitagain220, don't let six stress you, she's a troll, a huge know-it-all, and makes nasty posts on a lot of animal vids as well as pick fights with anybody she can. Usually she's yapping that everything is purposely cruel, instead of taking the time to truly educate herself and understand what it is she's actually seeing. She would set these gorillas all free, to run straight into the arms of the poachers.

The rest of us know that the caretakers are doing their best w/limited resources.

  • @elsiebea no that is not the way I read the exchanges. I have had contact with sixcharms in the past as well and I do not share your thoughts. Seems there is an understanding deficit on the part of killitagian. Not sure anyone with name of Killitagain really has the best interests of wildlife anyway

  • @sixaremycharms first of all they do just fine in the wild, you should have maybe an appropriate habitat 4 her to have her baby..or visa versa..?she ended up not being able to fuction properly because her natural instincs is to find safe haden.so dont act like she came screaming to u,saying please put me in a cement steel cage, hurry!!!got a better explanationless, explanation?

  • @DrieBier

Yes that is the same Akiba. It is amazing, because she got pregnant right after she got better. She was still very skinny at that time, but she started growing, and growing, and growing...

  • @limbewildlifecentre

When I saw her on television last week, I thought she wouldn't make it. What a difference, unbelievable! Keep up the good work, I Realy love your Centre!

  • Was Akiba the sick gorilla who was losing her hair and didn't want to eat I saw on tv @ animal planet?

  • what the hell is going on here?why is it this way?this isnt right!if you watch the gorillas out in the wild they have an abundence of trees veggies to eat, does this mother get to sleep with her baby at night?please ease my heart thanks

  • @killitagain220

The cages you see in the film are the night quarters. During the day the gorillas are out in a large enclosure, with trees, climbing structures, hills etc.

  • @limbewildlifecentre do u even understand what im talking about?..what i said was,the steel cage, the cement, the fact u made her give birth to her baby so you could film it,the enclosure you have 4 these gorillas isnt fit for them, now when you try replying back to me,please lets figure out a way to solve the cruelty.?

  • This is a beautiful film. What care the keepers gave the new mum and her small infant. I love it.

  • @MagsandIzzy

Akiba and her daughter Atinbi are doing fine. Atinbi is already very independent, crawling around and playing with others.

  • @MagsandIzzy open your eyes and watch closley, what part was so beautiful?

  • This is a year ago.. what has happened to this baby gorilla... where can we see these two... Is she a first time mom... Is Atinbi a girl or boy gorilla?
