I totally disagree on the Yuck>Cajun statements. Cajun clearly had a sinister edge to their music, that tickled both the melancholy and the envious senses of my musical ears. The singer really sounds desperate in his voice, adding a sensation of empathy to the music. Yuck to me sounds mainstream, and something like a mix of The Strokes and The Kooks. They sound like they're trying to be a reimagination band. Cajun sounds like kids trying to have fun and be expressive. That's what music is about.
@sephyboy09 Yeah they're pretty bad if you think Cajun Dance Party is better. Also, Yuck sounds nothing like The Kooks + The Strokes, if anything Cajun Dance Party does. Critics and fans of Yuck say that they sound like 90s noise rock bands such as Dinosaur Jr, Sonic Youth, Pavement, etc. It's obvious, I bet you've never even heard of those bands. Go listen to better music.
@Magnawulf I said Cajun>Yuck!, not that Cajun>Arctic Monkeys, Libertines, etc. And just an FYI, Incinerate is one of my all-time fav. songs. You're making arguments based on personal taste instead of actually making a point.
@sephyboy09 Then you didn't read my post. I did make a point. Yuck sounds more like 90s influenced bands and Cajun Dance Party sounds like AM, Strokes, Libertines, because they were spawned out of the post-punk/garage rock scene from early to mid 2000's. So if you're going to say CDP is better than Yuck, don't also say something so dumb like Yuck sounds like kooks and strokes.
@Magnawulf Saying CDP sounds like Kooks and Strokes isn't saying they're better mind you. And Yuck! sounding like them is this man's opinion, based on the vocal effects used throughout the album Yuck!, and the fuzzy guitar sound. Blumberg already sounds like he's the Kooks' lead singer, Luke Pritchard. CDP was stylistically very unsimilar to AM, Strokes, or Libertines. They had a sound that was peculiar to them, while Yuck! was covering ground already covered by bands before them.
