Imperial Armour Volume 11: The Doom of Mymeara

Part 1:

Imperial Armour 11 is the story of 3 massive Eldar armies attacking an insignificant Imperial world and not only failing despite the presence of one of the 5 major Craftworlds, but they in fact lose an entire Craftworld because of it. This much is obvious just from the information available on the FW website and it saddens me because they're finally giving the Eldar the spotlight and then having them fail utterly.

Part 2:

Not to say it'll be badly written, but I'm just so tired of Craftworlds being constantly destroyed in modern fluff and the Eldar appearing weak.

I love the Shadow Spectres, but they along with a brand new Pheonix Lord (!) are being introduced just to be decimated. We already know that the Pheonix Lord dies and the SS Aspect Shrines go into a decline.

Part 3:

Two Craftworlds, one of which is very powerful, and a Corsair fleet attack a backwater Imperial world. The Imperials have 3 IG Regiments, 1 Marine Company and 1 Titan Legion. A Craftworld is of comparable military strength to a Marine Chapter and will have at least as many Titans as a small Titanicus Legion. Or at least that's what it should be. . . but apparently the hundreds of millions of Eldar that live on a Craftworld can be beaten pretty easily in modern fluff.

Part 4:

To put this into perspective, this is like the full forces of a First Founding Marine Chapter (all 10 Companies) attacking a newly colonised Tau world and not being able to beat the 6 Hunter Cadres garrisoning the place.

They might as well write a story about how a heroic Deathwatch Kill-Team wipes-out an entire Craftworld. Hell, they already had an entire Craftworld get wiped out by a single 'Nid. . .

Yeah, it's hard to be an IG player as of late. All the other races seem to have been upgraded specifically to be able to chew an IG army to pieces. The last codex gave the IG BACK some units the previous one had taken away, but the IG hasn't had a new infantry type, or any new infantry models in almost a decade.

I look with relish as bolters chew up platoons, defilers smash into sentinels and leman russ squadrons, and terminators march across the table without taking a single casualty, carving their way through units. Sorry, but that's the fate of humanity. Outclassed by everything.

Still, I wonder why Elysians were put in. Air cavalry troops in a winter war, with all the storms and such doesn't strike me as a good idea.

If it's any consolation I can no longer afford to follow the hobby either, it's just too expensive to even buy regular G.W stuff. I love the company to bits and would shed man tears if G.W ever went under, but I simply cant support the company anymore because i've been priced out. Forgeworld stuff is for very rich people.
