That planet Astar is on is called planet danger. It appears to be a volcanic world with some mechanical structures. That's different from the original because the planet appeared to be purely industreal and had a nice view of the sky. I would have named the original planet "Iron Hell" rather than planet danger. I liked the old video much more than this crummy CGI remake.

Wow, I have no idea when this was made, but compared to the original, it is so crappy! The action, the effects, the environments, it all pales next to the original live-action one! The ear things look silly here (whereas they should be cooler and easier to do in the computer, too), and the arm doesn't even glow where it was cut... Typical remake, a shadow of the original. Unless it was made in '94 or so, then kudos for the awesome CGI!
