FF13 was alright.............except for the garbage battle system. Lets face it, Final Fantasy never had any good history with allied AIs. So even though the AIs might be faster than our hands (instantly using cure when switching to medic) it is still frustrating sometimes when they don't do exactly what we want. And Game Over when your main character is dead? That's just bullshit. Other than that, it's fine. Oh, and 12 is actually good. Always liked balthier and gabranth
Really? Awesome. And another thing which bugged me. People tend to say that FFIX is the last 'fantasy' kind of game in the series. Then they started complaining bout X,XII and XIII. X was just awesome. It wasn't futuristic like what others said (except for dream Zanarkand) The rest is more like FF6. Having completed FF1,2,4,5,6,7,8,9,10 and halfway through 12 and 1/4 through 13, I can say that the series is indeed good at storytelling.

The next Final Fantasy game should cutback on the futuristic themes. Final Fantasy XII for example. The setting for that game was perfect. Mix that with the leveling system from 12 and the battle system from 13... and you've got perfection. Oh! 4 Player parties. Like 9 and the old school FFs.
@JaredDrake I think it should completely throw scifi out. Return to the roots like 9 did. Hell, if 9 had a sequel, that alone would get me to buy whatever system it played on. I will never say that for any other FF game, period. After 9, the story quality just...plummeted. And let's all face it. We 90's kids played the FF games with a single plea in heart:

@NeoMasterRex I think it's because FF7 came first, and for many it was the game that introduced the current generation to the Final Fantasy series. So while in some ways FF9 was better, FF7 has nostalgic value and that wins out almost every time in the long run. Though, I expect most people who love FF7 like FF9 as well. Not like they said 9 was trash or anything. Just again, nostalgia tips it in their favor to the newer games.
This part of the game has always been a bit embarassing for me. Not only does Zidane make a total ass of himself but you have the tender friendship part afterwards. Still, this is the most memorable part of the game for me.

He wanders through Pandemonium and fights a few monsters and his friends find him and try to help him remember who he is and how he helped them to become stronger through his carefree and upbeating attitude and whatnot. He pretty much told them to fuck off, until Dagger (aka. Garnet) tells him how she was able to learn about the world outside the castle walls and

He apologized to his friends for the way he acted and thanks them for their help and then they all went after Garland... etc. etc.

In all honesty, I only liked this game a little bit when I played it. Sure I laughed but nothing much seemed to happen. However, when I got this point... seeing Zidane acting like that... I swear I felt tears rolling down my face. This was the turning point where my adoration for this game just skyrocketed to an unreachable height.
This is probably for me, the most emotional sequence I came across in video games ever. And thanks so much for posting this.
@boyslove20 I couldn't agree more. This game was cute, sometimes exciting and sometimes boring, often funny, but I wasn't too invested...and then this scene came and I was gripped by empathy. Shockingly powerful and I was swept away for the rest of the game. The music made the moment too. Excellent piece.
@cunyultimate Yeah, I laughed and felt sad at some parts. And I liked the game... but around to Disc 3, I was beginning to lose interest. But this scene came around... and I couldn't even describe in words how powerful this scene was.
I do think the music is one half of what made this scene so powerful. The dialogue/characters were the other half.
ff8 provide a different challenge... if u like a no level up challenge it IS still good. materia system is definitely my most fav system cuz of its complexity but the simple yet various unique ability is fun too ^_^

@DaRkLoRd1061 Yeah FF8 is definitely my favorite of the FF series, and actually my favorite game of all time. I don't need a game to play like all the other RPGS out there just for it to be fun! I actually liked the junctioning system and lvl system. I think what got me hooked though was the theme of the game and story.
This part in the game made me so sad...because Zidane had been so damn positive up to that point. I really felt for him, as I feel for all characters living or fictional who feel alone...Just know that you're not! We're connected as a species, and eventually we'll get to an awesome place!
i love this song, and i find it goes best with dissidia duodecim when you are fighting kuja and playing with ex judgement, because zidanes comments during the fight goes well with the song

the most beautiful tale ever.. i love this complete scene where Zidane's full of anger and hate and the others still follow him.. maybe the best scenes during the whole game!

If you like this song then you should check out the fan version that kate convington made with custom lyrics, she has an amazing voice =p. Also, ff9 is definitely my favorite final fantasy game, and tied with chrono cross and majora's mask for my favorite games of all time.

In all honesty, I only liked this game a little bit when I played it. Sure I laughed but nothing much seemed to happen. However, when I got this point... seeing Zidane acting like that... I swear I felt tears rolling down my face. This was the turning point where my adoration for this game just skyrocketed to an unreachable height.
This is probably for me, the most emotional sequence I came across in video games ever. And thanks so much for posting this.

@boyslove20 I couldn't agree more. This game was cute, sometimes exciting and sometimes boring, often funny, but I wasn't too invested...and then this scene came and I was gripped by empathy. Shockingly powerful and I was swept away for the rest of the game. The music made the moment too. Excellent piece.

@cunyultimate Yeah, I laughed and felt sad at some parts. And I liked the game... but around to Disc 3, I was beginning to lose interest. But this scene came around... and I couldn't even describe in words how powerful this scene was.
I do think the music is one half of what made this scene so powerful. The dialogue/characters were the other half.

ff8 provide a different challenge... if u like a no level up challenge it IS still good. materia system is definitely my most fav system cuz of its complexity but the simple yet various unique ability is fun too ^_^

wait i am confuddled what airship is a school? if you are talking about Bran Bal with the clones that was a docking area. Unless you were talking about Olievert (spelt weird) which was not a ship but a data storage place with the summon Ark in it please clarify!

Such an underrated game. It has so much deep, and still alot people don't appreciate this game because they stuck into older games of this series and compare them with it.

@chianara ff9 is under rated but not as under rated as ff8, ff8 will always be a personal favourite of mine... but i love all of the snes and ps1 final fantasies

@DaRkLoRd1061 i dont even care, the combat was so dumb, you didnt even have to level up, you could stay level 1 the whole game. Ontop of that the characters were so boring, and the plot was just wtf. it explained nothing, like suddenly the whole school is an airship. tf.

@Awgez24 your comment is basically describing FF7, because FF9 is the exact opposite of what you just wrote. 7 had a forgettable story, all the character's were boring (except barret, he's the coolest character ever) cloud has so little emotion I just want to claw my face off, and the story made absolutely no sense. I played through the game once and it was so horrible, that it makes tingle's rosy rupeeland seem fun. FF9 FTW!

@chianara just alot of ppl consider ff8 as one of the worst in the series becuz of it's junctioning system, and wierd leveling system that gets harder the more u level up... but as an overall game it was fantastic imo, easily one of the best in the series for me...
but yer ff9 was a brilliant game too, loved vivi as a character, and the black mages in general...

@DaRkLoRd1061 Yeah FF8 is definitely my favorite of the FF series, and actually my favorite game of all time. I don't need a game to play like all the other RPGS out there just for it to be fun! I actually liked the junctioning system and lvl system. I think what got me hooked though was the theme of the game and story.

This part in the game made me so sad...because Zidane had been so damn positive up to that point. I really felt for him, as I feel for all characters living or fictional who feel alone...Just know that you're not! We're connected as a species, and eventually we'll get to an awesome place!
