Not many people know that Bert decided to take up the guitar after hearing Davey Grahams - Angie. Bert got guitar lessons from Daveys sister who was also an accomplished folk performer. When Davey invented DADGAD tuning and introduced it to the guitar World - everyone from Jimmy Page to John Renbourne were influenced by it and borrowed it to carve out careers for themselves. When Davey fell on hard times and ended up in the Asylum..none of them offered to help him out. Ripoff Bastards !
@BrikSwoony I echo some of your sentiments about the Davey Graham / bert jansch ... but Davey,s hard times were mostly self inflicted brought on by his use of copious amounts of narcotics....and this is from someone who worships Davey Graham

Good although I don't like his lazy way way of singing as he gets older. Fantastic guitar arrangment though

John Martyn still has my favorite cover of this song, but Briggs and Jansch come close behind.

It is a wonderful version, I must say. However, you should check out davy graham's instrumental version...far better.
