  • he's dead, we all go, but he was formative to me.his music proves that we have a soul

  • @jorvik That's a lovely compliment Jorvik.

  • There are no words to convey my gratitude for your gift, dear brother.Rest well.

  • just heard he has moved on. thanks for the songs Bert. you will be remembered as someone special to many people

  • beautiful, you will be missed , thanks for leaving behind your amazing voice and music, RIP.

  • thanks bert!

  • Journey well Bert Jansch

  • Great playing as always by Bert, however i prefer Richard Thompson's version also on YT, his version is stunning.

  • jansch is the hendrix of folk guitar - neil young.

  • Amazing guitar arrangement, but vocally Anne Briggs' a capella version cannot be touched.

  • i want partition for that song !! so bad :(

  • Good although I don't like his lazy way way of singing as he gets older. Fantastic guitar arrangment though

  • @DavidSWP74 totally agree with you. Great guitar orchestration..get someone else to sing though..:-)

  • John Martyn still has my favorite cover of this song, but Briggs and Jansch come close behind.

  • Not many people know that Bert decided to take up the guitar after hearing Davey Grahams - Angie. Bert got guitar lessons from Daveys sister who was also an accomplished folk performer. When Davey invented DADGAD tuning and introduced it to the guitar World - everyone from Jimmy Page to John Renbourne were influenced by it and borrowed it to carve out careers for themselves. When Davey fell on hard times and ended up in the Asylum..none of them offered to help him out. Ripoff Bastards !

  • @BrikSwoony I echo some of your sentiments about the Davey Graham / bert jansch ... but Davey,s hard times were mostly self inflicted brought on by his use of copious amounts of narcotics....and this is from someone who worships Davey Graham

  • Bert's voice - One of the best in British folk!

  • It is a wonderful version, I must say. However, you should check out davy graham's instrumental version...far better.

  • I absolutely love this version of the song, it's full of atmosphere and mood.

  • I heard a million versions of this song, but I have never heard this one. Thanks!!!

  • Jesus.....he's good!!!

    Great version

  • Definitely my favourite version of this great song.
