When the first thing i see when i open a video is bitching how you dont play real guitar, you were having a bad daym or that its the first song you play makes me think youre gay.
Can you set it to where it shows you the names of the notes on the frets instead of just colored blocks. I'm looking to get more into music theory with this as well as play some cool songs like this.
owyeah, this is the game that I've been waiting for. Playing a song not through a buttoned guitar controller, but making it more awesome a real guitar! good thing I already have an electric guitar, the only problem is I don't have 360 or PS3 XD hahaha
My note lay out is like 1/10 th of how many notes you get, I changed to highest difficulty in main menu but there was no change, how do I make mine like yours?
The only way is to play and keep hitting all the notes or most of the notes.
I found out the other day that Highest Difficulty sets it to the highest difficulty that YOU have reached so far, which means if you are still only getting a few notes, THAT is the highest difficulty, until you show the game that you can handle more notes
@BravoGangUS08 Yeah, I just found out about this "Leveler mode" that allows you to master song segments and when you master the amount of notes amps up and gradually increases in difficulty.
so i can beat my dad at halo, call of duty but he just kicks my ass at this one but iv never picked up a guitar until this game and i am actually learning how to play the guitar! 10/10 but i do want more songs and some newer songs
You mean theory. I, as a beginner, don't care and I think that would just hamper the fun of learning. If I want to look that up later when I'm better then I will.
I don't know why ppl are saying it diesnt teach yiu guitar. There's settings for single note, chords, or combo. So shut the fuck up people unless you know what you're talking about.
@AwesomeSauce64 I don't think there's much music theory involved, but the practice games for scales, chords, bends and such seem pretty good. There's also quite a few technique tutorials with instruction. Think of it more as a practice tool.
I'm going to be honest, I was very disappointed with the games set list. The only songs I enjoyed was Slither, the Eric Clampton song and I Miss You the rest sucked to me, it was more of pop kind of stuff instead of rock. But oh well that's my opinion I would take it to gamestop but their so cheap assed i wouldn't even get 10% of what I paid for it.
i love this game i'm only a 12 year old but my dad lets me use his guitar to play it's not a game to me it's more like an instructor and i hate the stereotypes about video games and musical instruments
If you're a gamer you'll hate it. If you are a guitarist, you'll love it. I've had it now for about a week and think it's great. It sets itself to your skill level fairly quickly. Where I'm at in career mode is very challenging to me right now and my finger dexterity has already improved quite a bit. (been playing for about 2 years, self taught, power chord king)
People are stupid, obviously it doesn't sound like the real song. He's only playing 1 note each time. The game doesn't lie and make it sound like you're doing more than you are.
I know how to palm mute. However the notes on-screen did not tell me to palm mute so I didn't. If they were supposed to be muted they would have an X through the note
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
this doesnt even sound close to how the song sounds...maybe the right cords but no the correct way to play it..games and learning music will never go together
I think you are wrong about that. Assuming I understand what you are referring to.
The gameplay in that video was only showing SOME of the notes to the song because this was recorded the day I got the game, and I didn't have any experience yet. As you get better the game gets more difficult and adds more notes to it so that what you are playing is more exact to the actual guitar part.
@PandawdyBob yea..i play guitar..and i also play guitar hero for fun..and i hate it when people think they can actually play a real guitar because they press a few buttons lol
@HomeCRAFTON11 I'm guessing by now that you realize he didn't just "press a few buttons". Rocksmith uses any real guitar, and adds notes/difficulty as you get better. Not all the notes are there at the start. Search for a few 100% or expert or master videos.
@HomeCRAFTON11 learning is learning no matter how you slice it. I think this game is a great teaching tool for someone who wants to learn at there own pace
people at first i thought i could never learn to play guitar but after a week of playing it i can even play a song or 2 without looking at the screen rocksmith is awesome =)
Lol I just learned part of this playing on my acoustic while watching this video. I have a good idea this game will teach guitar pretty well and be really fun. I WANT IT.
I bought this game yesterday and i can already play E,D, and A notes pretty decently on my second day of playing! highly recomend this, but use the actual note part of it instead of the single note, better practice and more challenging in my opinion
@mrrainingfrogs If you already know how to play guitar well you can change it so it is set to the max difficulty by default. Thus you will be playing the actual guitar part note-for-note.
@BravoGangUS08 Are you sure? I haven't seen a single video where the player plays the notes as they are in the song, they always are playing a simplified version of it.
@cabohtz Most (if not all) videos are "single note" version of the song, once u get better with that you get access to the "chords" version and then the "combo" version, have in mind this is for people who never had the chance/time to learn guitar.
That looks a lot more complicated to read (and a much less useful/adaptable skill) than if it were like some scrolling tab (preferably with the music notation above it for rhythm).
It looks like they tried their hardest to make it look like guitar hero, but guitar hero has only five buttons, a real guitar needs notation that makes sense for a real guitar, and we already have a system of notation that makes it pretty simple.
GuitarPro TABs are free and are about as useful to play along with.
The guitar seems a lot louder than the band itself, does the game come like this? And if it does is there an option to where I can make it louder or softer?
@MidnightJDOC I didn't mess with any settings so yah that is how it comes. I don't know if there is an option to lower it or not since I never looked at the options lol sorry
@MidnightJDOC The game will try to balance the volume when you do your initial set up. You can go back to that later if you need to change it. Aside from that most electrics will have their own volume setting.
thanks for doing these videos. it helps me bide my time until this comes out on PC on Dec 13th. couple questions: is this game genuinely fun to play? it looks it but i want to be sure because i preordered it. also, do they have/are the going to have any other 80s songs besides "Where is My Mind", do you know??
@sonickchri To me it is genuinely fun, especially since I can actually use my own guitar :D Learning guitar through a video game is amazing.
I don't think they announced any DLC yet (besides the Bass Support DLC that will be coming sometime next year). So whatever 80s songs you saw on the setlist are the only ones for now :x
@I4gotMan This was actually the 2nd time playing the song. I played this and the other song once, followed by this "Performance" where you are playing for the virtual crowd.
I'm sorry if you don't believe me but I did not practice a couple times before recording the video.
@jp11mralfa I did! It's not really a good idea because it scales the skill level who ever is playing. I really want this and I just figured out that it came out not to long ago. I learned so much more stuff about this game and now im sold.
@jessicaluvsyouhernan no it isnt actualy. i play guitar and this game is amazing for anyone learning it. i just wished id learned it this way instead of the painfully long "learn by yourself" way
Nope this game is amazing. There are real problems with it like the menu system, and the riff repeater, and other practicing tools in my opinion but it makes learning fun... I've played my guitar MUCH more in the last couple weeks of having it than I did in the six months before.
Thanks for the upload. I've got money, sitting here, and I'm trying to figure out if this game is for me. I've been playing for 15 years, btw. Not only do I love the concept of the game, but it's made by Ubisoft! Haven't seen a bad Ubisoft game, yet.
I noticed in the beginning the sound from the guitar was lagging behind the music track. Was that the games fault? I'm worried about the lag issues some previews complained about.
@dxv6345 I'm not able to listen to the video right now but if it was just lagging in the beginning, it was probably just my timing being off lol
There is a piece of paper that comes with the game to show the best way to avoid lag. Best setting was HDMI (Video) and Red & White cable(Audio). I'm using "Better" setting which is the Component Cables (for Video and Audio). Lag shouldn't be an issue that you'll have to worry about
haha cant you just get a guitar and watch this video to learn everything? still though cool that it has minigames and the tone mode cant wait to get this game!
you must have some experience with a guitar if this is one of your first song attempts and you're doing that good. i'm uploading a video of myself playing, and I truly have ZERO experience playing lol. I mean, I make you look like a rockstar haha.
lol Honestly the only "experience" with guitar I had was:
