I am interesting in using the Wacom Intuous or the Cintiq 12X...what is the difference between the two? I'm working with a tight budget right now and I am leaning toward the Intuous. Any suggestions/tips?
Cintiq is a LCD tablet, you draw directly onscreen, but it is also more expensive. At a comparable size (Cintiq-WX12) the Intuos3-wide A5 or 6x8 is technically the same as Cintiq-12WX. Intuos3 does have a higher absolute accuracy (0.25mm vs 0.5mm) And there are accuracy issues at the Cintiq screen edges.
Drawing onscreen or on a tablet while looking at a monitor (not your hand) is the real difference.
Have a look at wacomshopDOTnl. The site has an English section (top right). Hope this helps.
Is it hard to use? I'm thinking about getting one but I don't really know about the software. Do you have to be an expert at all the software that comes with it? Or is it easy to learn about?
its a little hard to use if your use to a mouse, but i find that people who draw or write alot pic it up real fast, software is simple to install, and if your not too sure theres always bamboo tablets
I am pronouncing it the way their sales people do ( wack-em) . I too prefer way-com .. it rings better to my American ears. There seems to much debate as to how to pronounce it.
Funny thing there, the Dutch sales people pronounce it as way-com and I heard some other people call it wack-em. Kind of the game of potato potato :D
I'm using a graphire 4 and after setting it up to a smaller area it is pretty accurate compared to the intuos3. I had it setup to use my full screen, which made it jittery. Of course you don't have tilt
I'm looking into getting an intuos3-wide A5 (6x8) myself, Cintiq is, too expensive for what you get and I don't trust it as much as a tablet.
@micklemouse Yeah, it's pronounced "wah-com." It's a Japanese word, a portmanteau of the Japanese words "wa" (say "wah") which means "circle, harmony" and "komu" which means "computer," with the implication that it works in harmony with your computer. Though "Way-com" has become an unofficial pronunciation here in the US and Canada (maybe because it sounds better, if you ask me). But go anywhere outside the US and Canada, and they'll almost always pronounce it "Wah-com." I prefer "Way-com."
@micklemouse OMG I took 3 years to reply o.o xD Anyways its pronounced WALK-COME. Even on wacom channel says that its pronounced WALK- COME. THUMBS UP IF YOU AGREE PLEASE!
Ugh..I need a cheap tablet where you can draw on the screen..

its driving me crazy now im going to get a smaller one i see you had the 3 sizes here
9x12
6x11
6x8
wich one do you prefere from the last 2
is 6x11 as big as the 9x12 ? does it takes to much space ?
or i take a 6x8 ? im between these 2 now

I prefer the 6 x 11.

I'd say 6x8 because it's more square and is like the perfect size not too big not to small
