  • The only reason to watch SNL to the very end...

  • @2Modern4Angel2 Technically they are not an orchestra because they lack any bowed instruments. Random fact people might not know, but generally speaking this is not an orchestra it's a band.

  • Why don't they ever introduce the SNL band in the opening credits anymore?

  • Dont we wish the show was as good as the music?

  • They must play this song at the end of the world.

  • I know the Bari sax player for this band

  • where can i download this!!!!!!!!!!!????????????

  • hey there's a recording of "Kathy" by LP you can buy, it's got the same feel as this song- search Kathy Lenny Pickett, or Crescent Super Band Kathy

U can buy it on iTunes! :)

  • I remember my first time in NYC in 2006, I was lucky enough to go see a taping of SNL. LP and the band were KILLING! Hearing this sound live in the studio sent chills down my spine. I got to meet him after which was great, he smelled like whisksy big time!! haha.

  • Why they don't put the whole version of this song on iTunes or Amazon I'll never know. I'm sure they'd make money on it. I know I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

  • this makes me sad because it means snl ended

  • GE Smith was pretty awesome too. (Just before Lenny)

  • @SNLThemeAddict can you tell me band, or musician that has music that sounds like this? you know the new-york-ish jazz instrumental with saxophone..

  • Ah, at last someone's been kind enough to record the theme's! Love Lenny, Steve, Ron, Louie, Genus...and Luke who left to make hits

  • fjjj

  • It never hit me until I read the comments, but this is pretty awesome. When you watch the credits, and see the cast and guests hugging and laughing it up like old friends makes the song even cooler.

  • the snl band is awesome

  • Does anyone know of any bands or songs that sound like this???? None of Lenny's songs on his cds are even close to the blues feel in the SNL Closing Theme, and you cannot buy it anywhere either. PLEASE POST!!

  • @2Modern4Angel2 aaaamen! but the same goes if they get rid of only lenny. hes too bomb to replace

  • Many times A Waltz In A is the best part of SNL. Lenny's performance at the end of the show never fails to give me goosebumps. I only wish there was a source for a complete recording of this tune.

  • <3333333333333333333333333 is all i can say!!! :D

  • I wonder what'll happen to SNL's ratings after Pickett retires. They better find themselves some more Aykroyds, Oteris, and Farleys, etc...

  • @2Modern4Angel2

    I totally agree

  • love those staccato notes at the beginning. Attacking them notes lol

  • uuuuuuufffffffffffff..That's the way I'd like to play some day with all that feeling.

  • Lenny Pickett FTW!!!!!!!

  • This is the kind of theme for anyone who watches the show. Personally, if Joe Cocker was to have performed "With a Little Help From my Friends," this must be the kind of tempo to be played at today.

  • It's about 1976 and I'm this weird-looking High School kid with a major speech impediment who is hearing Lenny Picket's closing theme after watching SNL with my best buddy. For 90 min our problems went away and we laughed. This music speaks of old times, endings and friendship in a bittersweet way. Bless you for posting this!

  • Lenny you are the best! You move people, with that sax! When i listened to you when i was nineteen, your high sweet notes, were perfect , iam fifty-five now and I still love it!

  • I've always loved this song since watching SNL as a teen. It has this beautiful quality and always look forward to hearing it at the end of each show getting upset when they start to play it and NBC cuts it off abruptly. It's always great when they do play the whole song though, just a very nice song.

  • I have to say that this music moves me to tears when I hear it. The emotional cry of the sax totally takes you to another place. Truly etheral and gritty at the same time. You feel the pain behind the music which in of itself is a moving tribute to all the talented artist and performers who have struggled to get to that stage. Surreal. I feel you Lenny, I see you!

  • There are few songs that move you emotionally everytime you hear it, this is one of those songs. LP's playing, range, tone......... I don't think there are words to describe it but his playing is Heavenly

  • Does anyone have mp3 or wav file of this song ?

  • I got the MP3 of this in Full 2:00 1:00 :30 and :15 second tags but I'm not allowed to Release them to the General Public

  • @Colby9817

Ok. Then can you tell me where/how you got your MP3? I'm willing to buy the tune (if it is not free).

  • Pickett fucking rules the tenor sax !!

  • I hope they play this song in Heaven.

  • LP = awesomeness ^_^

  • Oh so beautiful.

  • Lenny, u know

  • It's always a little disheartening when the network cuts off the feed right after the host finished the goodnights... Great video.

  • Agreed. LP is the only reason I watch SNL these days.

  • I totally agree.

  • (P.S.)

    All hail Lenny Pickett !!!

  • Thank You, Merci, Gracias, Etc. Finally, a recording of one of my favorite songs since childhood...
