Have you found a good deep conditioner yet? I've been using organic root stimulator deep conditioner with some added stuff (castor, shea, more olive oil, honey). It seems to come out very soft and shiny. I'm still open for new suggestions tho.
My hair has been extremely dry since I have been transitioning. I'm in my 11th month. Yea ME! My stylist suggested Mizani Moisturefusion Milk Bath (Shampoo) and Mizani Moisturefusion Silkining Cream (Conditioner) It works like a charm. Use sparingly.I also use Mizani Moisturefusion (moisture stretch) curl definer. Use sparingly if combining all three. LUVS IT!
Type 4 hair tends to be more coily than type 3 hair. It is basically more kinky. The hair appears to be very thick and dense. However, the strands of 4type hair are sometimes very fine. Hope this answers your question.
Everybody that i heard that tried the cantu shea butter said that you have to use alone and can't use with anything else. I have tried the organics replenishing conditioner that comes in those yellow packs but now comes in a bottle, that is really good for a deep conditioner
Thank you sooo much for the insight!!! Gurl, I could not figure out why it would leave flakes sometimes and other times not. But now I know :-) Thanks again!
I didnt like the Cantu either. But I do like the DPR-11. Well it was okay by itself but I mixed it with the olive oil replenishing deep conditioner pack and it leaves my hair so soft. If you have any extra DPR-11 try mixing it with the replenishing pack. I also have type 4 hair.
Wow! What a great video.. thanks so much for posting this!

I don't know if you are still looking for a great leave-in, but here are my suggestion
1. EO rinse out or leave-inconditioner. This can be found health food store or online.
2. Garnier Fruitis sleek and shine leave-in.
The best deep conditioners I've used is Africa Best Hair Mayo and ORS Replenishing Pak (also sold in the bottle)
