  • THE BONE IS THE BOMB SON........

  • Thats some first class dance moves

  • Listening to this song today on the way back from class. Great tune.

  • I Love You My Brother !!!!!!!!! <3

  • when they "should have broken out..." stupid internet.

  • Fishbone is a fantastic band - they have every right to be HUGE. The problem was that when the broken out, late 80s-early 90s, what the labels wanted was hip-hop or grunge and Fishbone didn't fit anywhere. They might have made it anyway but Sony dropped them after the guitarist had a breakdown and the bassist got accused of kidnapping when he tried to help. Just a perfect storm of bad luck for a GREAT band.

  • for your information silverbaal this bands been arouns since 1979 they are the trend setters

  • VEVO my ass

  • I just came back San Francisco and seen the Documentary of Fishbone and got to meet and shake hands with Angelo Moore at the Roxy. they will be back in Frisco as a group in March and will be opening for Public Enemy at Yoshi's....I will be flying to see that....peace yall.

  • They're sarting to make me like Ska alot ...

  • These guys are the chili peppers who never got a chance to go on a world tour.

  • I remember back in 07 when Fishbone opened for Slightly Stoopid at the HoB Anaheim and I got to have drinks with a few of them. It was awesome.

  • what a great band this was. wow.

  • @zzyyxxo was? they just released an EP!

  • I'd call it electric ska... I like it.

  • SLAMIN'!...

  • Builderberg

  • i this a demo version? definitely not the album version

  • @fricorico It sounds like the album version, but with tracks added on top of it. A remix, I guess. But the same basic recording.

  • did fishbone sell out to vevo?

  • @mangozumo No, Vevo sold out to Fishbone.

  • @mangozumo Nope, Sony Bmg did... a lot of artists aren't anymore the owners of their art !

  • if a band like fishbone came out now, it would blow douches like bruno mars, and lil wayen out of the water! they would inspire a whole new generation of music, songs about family and just a happier, not gettin down in da club, kind of music! kids need this, more of a moral point on life. not everyone is a gangsta, or whatever hip hop artists call them selves. im not some old guy either, i'm 16 and seriously worried about what my kids will listen to.

  • @linkx321 Fishbone are still there... don't worry for your kids, they will still listen to Fishbone in 2030-2040 and later !

  • fishbone is a ska band not a rock band thanks ....

  • @frfr77 they actually have different genres, thats why they're soo critically aclaimed

  • I remember these guys playing SNL in the fall of '91 or thereabouts. They were right on the cusp of breaking it into the big time but just missed the bus. They could not follow up the genius of Truth and Soul, but they had talent to spare.

  • @dropway9 I disagree. They had truth, and they definetely had soul. But, the music market was not pushing this style of music, at the time. Their R and B was more Luther Vandross, Keith Sweat, Levert, Micheal and Janet Jackson, Madonna, Annie Lennox [Eurythmics] Lisa Stanfield and ETC... Totally different sound and toally different market to what Fishbone, has been doing.

  • motha fukas in the house!!! these guy rule!!!!!

  • @andynow89 than they would lose that edge that makes em..... FISHBONE

  • simply rock

  • serious family subject but damn if everytime i hear this song i wanna get crazy!

  • you can see how anthony from the chillis copies him man

  • @spadge321 I agree. I do think that Anthony and the boys got a lot of their styles, from what Fishbone has done. But, you've got to admit. Chili Peppers has got some absolute awesome material, throughout their history, as well.

  • fishbone is amazing ! its not acdc , all of they song are very diiferent and they are influenced on ska reggae pop hip hop rock metal funk...

  • haha supper vet! kan nie wachte op 't nirwanatuinfeest met oa, fishbone, triggerfinger, suicidal tendencies

  • this is an amazing song but the version from fishbone 101 is a lot better

  • Waaaay too much chillipeppers in the suggestions.

  • @D0wn82 werent living color, bad bones, and fishbone in the same catagory at the same time frame?

  • @roccom80 you mean bad brains? They all had a hard rock element, but otherwise were very different bands.

  • @andynow89

Yup...thinking about black musicians that can rock your nuts off are Living Color!!!!

  • most people say "when pigs fly" for when something unlikaly will happen. I say "when Fishbone gets a white member".

  • All ska fans, check out the band PapaFish from southern california. They have a great sound, totally recommend!

  • look at that jump at 0:04

  • One of the best bands I've seen live. Can't wait to see them at Ink n Iron.

  • One of the best bands I've ever seen live!

  • @Andynow89 I'm black. I know that there are many bands comprised of members black, white, yellow, red, whatever..Who don't get exposure. Talented bands. Fishbone is as talented as any indie rock/metal/underground band...They're not special because they're black. This is the nature of the underground struggle. They are no different than any other band. :)

  • @silverbaal thank you for you're comment I definitely agree!! I heard of them from watching a documentary about afropunk and another documentary about black rockers. But I really got interested in them because of D'angelo because he's doing an album that will be heavily influenced by afropunk and rock and soul obviously. I'm excited I wish more artists would go in to ska afropunk and rock. But not commercially for the money just to find a new expression of their music.

  • @silverbaal Is it really fair to say they're underground and uploaded on VEVO?

  • @silverbaal who cares if they are black?Fishbone rock!We used to listen to Fishbone so much my girlfriend would sing the songs in her sleep(1988)Love them and i also like Fear ,Bad Brains, dino Jr, the replacements, husker du the pixies public enemy Music has no color!

  • @silverbaal Well put. My friends think that rock, alt. etc as being "white" because of that rep. that's been built. On the other hand though why is it that people in genres that have been associated with blacks and nowadays people of color in general (rap, soul, rnb etc) are more easily recognized by people? Why is it that most people know Adele or Robin Thicke but not Phil Lynott, Jimi Hendrix etc? I'm not a hater, I like Adele but it's a pattern I've noticed and annoying one at that.

  • @tinybubblesinhawaii I haven't a clue who those first two people are. Of course, I'm very familiar with Jimi and Phil Lynott. Nonetheless, I can answer your question. It's because white people like things, even cultural products, that are all white. They also like to pretend that black folks didn't invent rock and roll, both the music and the phrase it was named after.

  • @silverbaal The whole comprises the parts and not the other way around.

  • @silverbaal

They're not popular because they're WEIRD compared to what most people listen to. They don't stick with one genre, and people like consistency. It makes them feel safe on some level. Fishbone's great, don't get me wrong, but people can't handle what they do; it's not because they're black. Haven't you noticed the gross over-representation of "thuggish" or "gangster" blacks in pop culture? :P

  • @silverbaal They are different in that they are Roadsign that most bands of this genre or non genre that began melding different musical styles still under the banner of punk that came out of the 80's. followed.

  • ¡AGHH, VEVO DE MIERDA! AGUANTE FISHBONE

  • @andynow89 Fishbone sang about this on the track "Rock Star" off of "Chim Chim's Badass Revenge". I believe the music industry was and is afraid of the influence African-Americans have in the music industry. If you ask me Fishbone should've broke through when their first EP came out. Folks talk about how many genre this band covers and how they were hard to place, but I feel that there music was unique and accessible from the beginning.

  • This is not the original track for the video. Can't you tell that it been overdubbed? The original video that was posted has been blocked by Sony and that really sucks.

  • @andynow89 ----WELL SAID......VERY WELL SAID!!!!

  • Lucky enough to be supporting these legends next week! Can't wait!! What an honour :)

  • he has too much energy...

  • These guys are INSANE live. a MUST see!

  • truly a hidden gem in the world of talentless individuals, Angelo Moore has got to be one if the craziest and more talented people out there

  • @andynow89 sorry mate but I have never ever fucking heard a good african american rock band in my life...Fishbone are Ska,Living Colour were funk and those two are the only ones that count nad leave Jimi out of it

  • Thi was the first song that I'd ever heard from Fishbone, and it caught me right in the cheek. Upon further investigation, this band has a hold on a very deep part of me. I can not imagine my ears without them now.

  • @Skalanto Well Said well said :)

  • Check out our band PapaFish if you're a ska/reggae/punk fan, we're out of southern california. let us know what you think : )

  • First timer seeing Fishbone...two words Aaaa-mazing. Can't believe it took so long for me to see them.

  • Saw them life last night and it was the first time I ever herd of them and they were FUCKING AMASING.

  • The fact that these guys get very little recognition is down right criminal. Record companies and radio stations today suck.

  • @andynow89 I agree 100%..Eric Gales is another great african american rocker who never gets enough recognition..

  • check out my band called ...FAT LIPPED FISH...first album due march 2011..feel free to comment

  • Love Fishbone. Saw them when they played at the University of Florida student Union. Yes, they deserve more exposure and credit for being real...

  • Fishbone ROCKS! Vevo Get off of You Tube!!!!!!!!!!!!! Post off to the side man!

  • <(((<

  • Always have and always will love Fishbone. My band has had the opportunity to share the stage with them 3 times and each time has been memorable. Most recently was Ska In The Park this past June in Pomona, CA.

There's still great music out there, but you just have to search it out. Don't let the record companies feed you what you should listen to. Or if you've got the desire, write it and play it yourself. It all starts with a fresh idea. Peace and Unity in the Ska Community!

  • @andynow89 There's a pop rock band here in STL called Kaleidoscope Horizon with a black singer! They're sick! They've got a myspace except they've changed their style a lot, they're not as electronic/gimmicky as the demo on their is. They've come into their own and are gaining some recognition here. Definitely check them out!

  • saw them last night in tempe, they were amazing!

  • I freakin' love this band

  • FISHBONE...PLEEZ REUNITE!

Angelo, Norwood, Fish, Chris, Kendall, Walt & John...let's go!

  • @slikkboi

    galaxy concert theatre - Dec 9, 2010

  • @andynow89 they had vids on mtv when mtv had music videos - thats the only way this old man even came across fishbone!

  • Fishbone is Red Hot!!!

  • @andynow89 Probably not your style, but you should look up Killswitch Engage. I think they're pretty good, and the lead singer's deep voice is unique to the genre.

  • I ahve not heard this song in forever

    Awesome

  • Fuckin' awesome!

  • Thunderbird Stadium Vancouver Lollapalooza . Fishbone.

  • @GLABB69 vancouver is awesome, to bad i was born a little late to see them :(

  • @andynow89 ....dude. whatabout sly? ghraham central station? living colour? there is no real color in music, so long as there are instruments...

  • fishbone aren't the same band they once were, but when they were in their prime no band band was better at what they did. they were masters of their genre and one of the best period. unfortunately they were under the radar. doesn't matter pick up their old albums and be blown away. still better than 90% of the shit now.

  • Will somebody please upload "Ghetto Soundwave"?

  • This group are like the pioneers of SKA and Gwen Stefani was a follower and rocked in the crowd at their shows before she made it.

  • Check out a video with fishbone speaking out against bp on my channel!

  • One of the best shows I ever went to.

  • Filmore 1989! Great show!!!!

  • @kresgeboy I was there too!!!! Bloown away really....!

  • dope

  • I am black and I remember seeing fishbone sooo many times. They are/were awesome! Unfortunately, the music that is out today is only out for people who are LED to believe that what they hear and see is WHAT is good...ppl need to think outside of the fucking box! SKA TIL' YOUR HEART STOPS!

  • @berlyasa I whole heartly agree with you. The reality of this real world vs the seemingly virtual world people are getting suck into....

  • @berlyasa It's a damn shame....

  • @andynow89 Yeah man, greed is what will kill our world in the end, and where all evil is spread from.... too bad eh? "Were gona have a good life!" XP

  • @andynow89 Hey man, it's not just african americans that produce this music, if you look at it, it's almost everybody who isn't north american, or british, but still, you only see american and british so called "musicians" out there, but yeah, you are on the right track...

  • i met the bassist.he teaches in this middle school in l.a in this after school program called lacer.he teaches how to play instruments.

  • Fish is still going strong and playing out here in LA from time to time.

  • Jesus.

  • this band is fucken sweet though

  • @andynow89 Dude there are plenty of talented white artists, brown artists, latinos, etc. The reason they dont get signed is due primarily to lack of exposure, but almost as important, because they are not easy for pinhead agencies to mass market.

  • And weezer kind of ripped the riff. I was just reading a thread discussing how african american artists don't get the same mainstream recognition as white contemporaries. And I have to say, fishbone is better than no doubt. It's so stupid to think that certain generas are exclusive to certain races.

  • @enomarekim Thats a pretty shallow analysis though, I think you would do better to consider more than just race, but lifestyle and salary of the targetted customers. No doubt's customers could have been 2 million spoiled suburban kids who could basically just ask their moms for money and get a ride to the cd store. But I could agree with you that some of these same suburban kids could be raised to find something unappealing just because its written by blacks. And the media as well

  • I love you Angelo Moore! Fishbone Forever.

  • The best Ska band! my opinion though.

  • Fishbone Mother Finest and 24 7 spyz are in along list of great band that didn't get there recognition like they should

  • Comment removed

  • sadly, fishbone and bad brains are too good for mass consumption.

that shows where "consumers" minds are.

    or where they are NOT.

  • One of the MOST talented bands.

These guys are genius; they BLOW away 99% of bands that get "recognition".

See them live and you will understand.

    God Bless, Fishbone.

  • @matthew71314

    AMEN soldier!!

  • @matthew71314

fishbone live will change your life, it changed mine haha

  • @matthew71314 Truer words could not be spoken... And yes, I have seen them live over 100 times.

  • @matthew71314 haha I saw them when I was in my moms stomach 1996!!!!!!

  • @matthew71314 yes...

  • @matthew71314 Couldn't have said it any better myself most underappreciated band ever.

  • @matthew71314

Just saw them last night, couldn't be anymore true.

  • @matthew71314 saw them live last week. greatest show i have ever been to

  • Wow Coldplay totally stole the chorus for Viva la Vida

  • That is so true drewper...I had the chance to see them in Toronto in the early 90s...I was front & center , holding on for dear life...I ended up in the back with in seconds lol...left crying cause I couldn't see a damn thing...and I had dreamed of the opportunity for so long !!!

  • I've had the privilege of seeing Fishbone 3 times. Unfortunately, 2 of those times were without Fish on drums. Robmonster1, I also saw them in '96 and they blew my mind. Fishbone never got the commercial credit that other bands half as good get.

  • are these the same guys who performed with the red hot chili peppers in 87 at the roxy club for the jimi hendrix tribute?

  • Are there any bands of such greatness around now? I just hear Nickelback and I want to give up on the world, but there must be something better...

  • There is musical BRILLIANCE out there right now you just gotta look past the radio and such

  • I you want new, energetic music with brass instruments, check out lettuce, soulive and galactic. these are funk/jazz groups, but you won't be disappointed

  • Damon and the Heathens are playing some horns in Oakland - not ska, more jazz - but good

  • theres soooooo much good stuff out there. in fact the 00's has been my favorite decade for music (ignoring Nickelback and such, I don't listen to the radio.)

  • There is, but mainstream music exposure has gone to the dogs. You really need to look hard for good music today.

  • fishbone does it better than any other!

  • these guys have been around for years and they're still entertaining as ever!! Jealous of all my friends in Florida who will get to see them in February!

  • Such a classic!...Man these guys are dope!

  • I saw these guys back in '96 I think... they had the most energy I've ever seen on a stage.

  • used to listen to this when I was a teenager.....LOve it :)

    (White lady lol)

  • A great band with great songs. Old white guy here loves this shit.

  • wtf 100 000 views and only 1 comments?

  • too busy toking to comment
