there's nothing the "white man" can do, haven't you noticed every time white people try to help they screw it up?
It's time for the communities to stop blaming, and set up market economy's, they need to stop buying things from the white people in the cities and watching there money flow straight back to the capitals.
If anything this video and Steve's video have showed me that Australian politics are ass backwards. I guess I assume any country with internet access and people with nearly American sounding accents (thanks entropy!) have the same liberties and free speech practices that Americans have. I mean, I'm not one of those people who get all uppity about free speech (SLASHDOT COMMENTS) but c'mon, allowing the incumbent to control the electoral process is just dumb.
ok there's a distinction to be made first between policy and politics. i agree with jacob about policy - in some cases none of the main contenders have real solutions...
...but the electoral process works just fine. the incumbent cannot just do whatever he likes, there are strict bounds about when the election must be called and all that, and with your average australians cynicism towards our leaders, playing with the electoral process only damages ones ratings in the polls. you're correct that allowing the incumbent to control the process is stupid, in practise it makes little difference in Australia, hence aussie politics work just fine :)
ok i'm not sure what we're still arguing about. you're saying that it's not right for the incumbent to control the electoral process, i'm saying in australia it makes no difference who controls the electoral process because there are safeguards to ensure fair elections. i'm sure we can agree that fair elections is what is right?
Yeah but what about the incumbent not allowing TV stations to show 'the worm' because it shows that people don't like him, and then cutting the line on that TV station who did it anyway? Or the fact that he refuses to allow either party to do the YouTube thing, even though the other party wants to? Safeguards or not, it's not fair that the incumbent can censor negative press about themselves. That's a screwy system.
oh that! :) the PM can't censor jack. it was the newspress that pulled the plug not the PM (incumbent). in anycase the worm was agreed by all parties to be unfairly biased towards the opposition - which i would agree with even though i prefer the opposition over the current government. Rudd would inhale and the his rating would go up - that doesn't seem to be balanced to me. i'm not sure what you mean re the YT thing since both parties use YT to promote their campaigns.
What is a community persons purpose in life? what are their goals? their ambitions?
Lets be honest, that's where the problem is.
