A very smart dog! Dogs actually feel the static electricity in the air when there is a thunderstorm. Getting into the tub grounds them. Next time there's a storm, wipe a dryer sheet over her. :)
My dog used to be scared of the thunder. He would hide under my mom's bed. But I read that you aren't suppose to console them because it tells them that something wrong and that the should be afraid. And we used to always console our dog.
So is mine! He also goes to upstairs (closer to the lightening and thunder when you think about it) bathroom, but does not go in the tub. He is 140lbs and trembles when it storms and whines.
What breed is your dog? We got my dog from the pound, and we don't know what breed she is. But she has similarities to yours. My dog is deathly afraid of thunder as well.
what a sweet looking doggy . maybe you can try a thundershirt. they are amazing .I just got one for my little chicken .My Dog is not only afraid of lightning but jets as well :-( .The thundershirt is supposed to work wonders .We have not had a storm yet so we shall see :-)

we have to comfort him and hold him close so he'll stop shaking
