@Doggepe Because the car doesn´t need the sport mode for making it to 300 kmh.The comfort is a lot better on a highway, sport for fooling around on cornered roads, and the sport plus only for racetrack or people that are crazy enough to use it on road and also want to go to the dental clinic afterwards

Its uses in-cabin sound through the stereo to create that noise, its not engine, its a audio track to copy the acceleration of the car! BMW calls it active sound design, read up on it. Thats why it sounds like a V10

@invisiblmonster yeah, I read about it @ autoblog. Though if it is a real-time recording, which what it's supposed to be, then it should sound more like the X5m/x6m regardless (maybe a bit louder). Or it could be that there is a millisecond delay between the actual sound and the recording so when the soundwaves from both combine, it is off-set enough to sound V10-ish...
