  • @65Nuttah

I just feel like you're making excuses for not knowing how to dance for real yourself. Times do change but you can't argue that grinding is the same as dancing.

  • e but that would also be so funny to do the full "The Lyndy Hop - Hellzapoppin" moves in a club................. would suprise some present streetdancers some of the moves that they did back then ...(thats if it didnt knock out everyone in the Night Club lol)

HARD CORE TILL I DIE ... but repect for the mooves man ! my kid is now learning this at school.

  • youtube is a blessing for dancers. tons of regional styles are represented that get no coverage in teh national media. and there are tutorials for tons of styles that dont even have DVDs. of course live teachers are better. and dont knock grinding aka "leg humping" or "full body lead" dances. theres a huge variety, and it takes skill to finess. see balboa, tango, blues, chicago steppin, zouk, lambada, bachata etc etc etc

  • good thnx

  • if you look up local swing dancing online, i'm sure you can find a place. thats how i found a place for $10 for 5 hours. i think thats a really good price. each week, they teach a new step for an hour along with some basic steps and then the rest of the time is to just practice it and try some of your own stuff. its a lot of fun. look it up.

  • There are so many people who would love to dance and just dont have the money for classes. Thanks for putting this up, but there is no replacement for one on one. I'm wondering about how many potentially great dancers fall through the cracks.

  • You are so right. Dancing, which used to be a part of everyday life for human beings for nearly their entire existence has been relegated to humping people's legs in clubs.

So few people know how to do any kind of dancing, that the very few who do, can charge $50 an hour. It's absurd.

We need community dance centers where people can learn, practice, and have fun. We need to put dancing back in it's proper place.

  • @rachelsanders2 a lot of colleges these days are actually starting their own swing clubs that are completely free. all it takes is a few skilled people that are willing to pass on what they have learned and are willing to help you develop one on one if you need to, and you have the makings of a great club. i'm actually part of the only swing scene in the city i go to school in, so pretty much whoever walks through our doors to learn, student or not, we accept.

  • @bigcheese226

I'm in one of those clubs! Just joined a few months ago and I can't get enough of it!

  • @rachelsanders2 omg are you listening to yourself? Why do people get all upset and feel the need to argue the fact that a certain thing (in this case dancing) is changing and being ruined. Times change dude, nothing will stay the same and you got to learn to get used to that. Give the humping leg dance a shot, it's pretty funny ;).

  • @rachelsanders2

I disagree with you because although swing (read: real) dancing is a great thing (I love lindy hop and dance very frequently), it's one of those things where I wouldn't want it to become mainstream because that itself would ruin it. Part of what makes it so cool when you know how to dance is the fact that it's so rare now.

  • @rachelsanders2 We have that in Ottawa! :-D

  • check out my vid of "Paulo Nutini new release pencil full of lead with Al Minns and Leon James dancing"..these boys know how to entertain..

  • @jerramy a lot of colleges these days are actually starting their own swing clubs that are completely free. all it takes is a few skilled people that are willing to pass on what they have learned and are willing to help you develop one on one if you need to, and you have the makings of a great club. i'm actually in the 5th generation swing club at my college and we're the only swing scene in the city i go to school in, so pretty much whoever walks through our doors to learn, we accept.

  • Thanks! Appreciated. Gonna use it tonight. If I get it in place... :)
