  • This is awesome man. Thanks. I have relatively long arms and seem to get the Kimura grip all of the time. I am definitely going to add this.

  • that's marcelo garcia's move!!!!from the kimura 2 the armlock or compression lock!!!

  • Wow these are great moves. Thanks man!

  • Awesome!

  • Is that a hardwood floor they are rolling on? i hope not.

  • Is that wood they're rolling on??

  • @PaperNun It is mats with woodprint... zebramats sells them as well as many others.

  • Tom is the man ;0)

  • Thumbs up for: "Tom, you're just gonna have to suck it up, buddy." :)

  • Awesome!!! I use this one a lot..... I actually let go of my lock down with my feet once I have the Kimura, walk the clock then once I'm at north south I use the Kimura to pull myself to their back .....I pull with the Kimura and jump at the same time, you go right into a back ride.....its great.....

  • Great Work! Breaking it down like this!!!!

  • If i were a student I would have ran around to the side so I could get a good view of what hes doing with his arms.

  • who is your teacher james he must be proud of you

  • "Tom your just going to have to suck it up buddy." - LMAO, classic!!!

Great technique man, thanks once again for sharing your knowledge.

  • I think this is funny that it's on a hard wood floor.... tapskilz has good techniques though

  • haha he tried to tap

  • they can do anything..... if theyre strong enough.

  • Can't someone on top bring their free leg up and put their knee up into your sternum and stop the kimura?

  • please dont tell me that you guys are rolling on wooden floor!! Ive seen many videos from this instructor and think very highly of him. especially the no gi stuff that he does. but very shocked to see a demo on wood! Was up wid that? kinda crazy

  • Yea I saw that and I was like, damn; that's pretty brutal. I think he's doing a seminar though so this isn't his place.

  • awesome video!

  • This was at a seminar not an actual class at IBJJA...and I use the half guard Kimura quite frequently as do several "high level" guys I have trained with...namely Jeff Serafin

  • too complicated for you to follow huh?

  • thats my sensi on top

  • are those floors hardwood

  • omg thats my training dojo!!! hahah

  • Nice video- I find myself in that weird leg-over-shoulder position (i.e. 5:55) all the time, especially with blue belt & up. It's great to see that I have a few options for turning it into something useful. Thanks for posting!

  • Thank you tapskilz, I've used some of your advice in some rolling sessions,.

Lets get away from the mat issue.

  • We've got mats that look like concrete in the UK, mats that look like wood are for beginners :).......and don't even get me started on mats that look like mats.

    Awesome techniques, thanks.

  • why does it matter what design your mat is?

so you're saying if i ordered a mat that looks like concrete and got my friend in a triangle, that makes me a badass?

    hmm..

Dan Camarillo, one of the best Jiu-Jitsu guys in the States instructs his students on "mats that look like mats"

    >:|

  • I'm pretty sure he is just kidding. LOL

  • Comment removed

  • GREAT video. Excellent instruction on the techniques..

  • I've seen those mats before.

They just look like wood, but they're padded.

    Pretty sick eh?

  • knee pads anyone ?

  • are these guys on a wooden floor??

  • NO. They are puzzle mats. LOL

  • @tapskilz LOL

  • Are you really training on a wood floor?? Damn Clingerman...I knew you IN boys were tough but that sucks! LOL

  • That second option...isn't that kind of like a slicer? If so is that legal in tournaments?

  • THANKS

  • hahahah "you'll just have to suck it up..."

  • You guys are hardcore, training on hardwood! :)

  • pretty sure those are interlocking mats that look like wood. cool though

  • my dojo has those, they do look similar, wouldnt be suprised if they were

  • very good work.
