One of my best friends has hair that is like this, but even worse. She just always has to put it up or in a braid. Even when she straightens it it doesn't really work.
She's so adorable!! My sister and I have the same kind of hair (We're Puerto Rican, Polish, and African American). It takes so long to do our hair so I feel your pain. I do my little sister's hair all the time (her hair is halfway down her back when it's curly), so it takes about 5 hours altogether to get it that straight. Question though: I'm actually thinking about getting it, and I kinda want to get another opinion... Great Vid!! :)

OMG, I hope you placed some type of heat protective and conditioner on her hair. You can fry her hair like that if you didn't. I have hair like this and you NEVER put heat directly on the hair w/out prepping it or she'll have major breakage, split ends and ruin the hair. I'm assuming you didn't because if you had prepped her hair, you would have had to go over each strand multiple times...yes, even for her hair type and thickness...

I have hair just like your niece's hair. It is also VERY thick, frizzy and curly. I used to straighten it EVERY day, but I finally stopped fighting it. I found that John Frieda's Dream Curls (in a spray bottle) works wonderful on my hair. Because my hair is SO thick I have to pretty much drench it in the stuff (and unfortunately it has to air dry), but it works great. Your niece should try it. It really holds the curls and keeps the frizz to a minimum.
i don't see anything wrong with her hair. her hair is already perfect. a lot of men like their woman's hair long, curly, and soft to the touch. something they can bury their face unto when they kiss their woman. i think her hair is sexy. straight hair is over rated.
@ladycookieluck i usually keep it straight, blow dry it with bio silk and like an end sealer. then flat iron it with a herstyler i love that flat iron. i also deep condition it like every other week. thats pretty much it.

So I was just going to say, you don't have to put allot of products in her hair either. You know a little coconut oil or olive oil after her bath, comb through, should help with the manageability. I have wicked hair too, and I like to stay as natural as possible.

I am Afro-American and Cuban. And her hair is just like mines very thick frizzy, Wavy and course. When I flat iron my hair I have to go over it 4 times to get it straight because it's resistant. I Heard you say her hair is curly. She has a complete S pattern that forms throughout her hair. She has type 2c hair very thick and course.

Next time you use the Instyler on her hair, make sure that the barrell is positioned at the bottom and brush on top and sloooooooowly move down the hair shaft for better straightening. Also used some type serum or keratin for better results

You know you can just take a bit of hair serum, rub it in her hair, and THEN straighten it. it makes ur hair shinier, softer, and less frizzy.

I have the same hair, thick curly and poofy depending on the weather. I don't mind the curls, but sometimes I want to look a little different and want it strait. Looks like it takes a little too much work. Trying to find that great wow me product. Guess I will keep looking. Thanks for the video.

ok i have really bad hair its soft(which is good) but its curly and puffy and wavy and any word that can describe *poof!* i have the instyler whenever i straighten its take at least 45 minutes! but it still dosent come out super straight how can i get it super straight? and btw the humidity jacks it up do u have any advice on anything i can put it my hair like a spray or something? ill take responses from anyone at this point!!!!

So I was just going to say, you don't have to put allot of products in her hair either. You know a little coconut oil or olive oil after her bath, comb through, should help with the manageability. I have wicked hair too, and I like to stay as natural as possible.

Your niece is a very pretty girl, her hair is great. I have a curly hair and I'm always getting cumpliments for my hair and also for my son's hair. I understand why she is upset, like, the media makes people think the only cool hair is straight, that's not true! The advantage of having curly hair is that we can straight it, curl, soooo many hair dos. I would suggest her to use the leave in cream called Strictly CURLS from Marc Antony (Rite Aid pharmacy) will make "La Pouff" behave pretty !

I am Afro-American and Cuban. And her hair is just like mines very thick frizzy, Wavy and course. When I flat iron my hair I have to go over it 4 times to get it straight because it's resistant. I Heard you say her hair is curly. She has a complete S pattern that forms throughout her hair. She has type 2c hair very thick and course.

Next time you use the Instyler on her hair, make sure that the barrell is positioned at the bottom and brush on top and sloooooooowly move down the hair shaft for better straightening. Also used some type serum or keratin for better results

I know how hard it is to style curly hair and usually I do straighten it just because its easier. I think by bad hair she meant like tough hair or hard to style hair. I mean their are only so many styles for curly hair especially like her hair. But yes I know curly hair is beautiful and when shes older shes gonna love her hair its just right now straight hair is in.
