I'm not a Preterist, I'm a historicist. Either way, Dispensationalism is absolute nonsense. These Dallas Seminary grads are preaching heresy and have fallen right back into Rome.
Two prophetic schemes were brought out by two different Jesuit scholars during the counter-reformation: 1) The preterist theory was introduced by Luis de Alcasar, S.J. (1554-1613), and, 2) The futurist theory was introduced by Francisco Ribera, S.J. (1537-1591).
These two Jesuit prophetic schemes are being espoused by Gary DeMar, and Thomas Ice. Both are completely ABANDONING the historic, Protestant position on prophetic interpretation.
The other important issue is the proper definition of "parousia" or the "coming" of Christ in the clouds with power and great glory. It is not a personal appearance but making his presence felt. But when you think this "coming" means "personal appearance" or bodily/visible second coming and you know that it has not yet happened historically then that would inevitably influenced how you understand "this generation" as "the generation that will see all these things."
