True or not to the Comics, it was one hell of a piece by Sly. Sly was meant to play the role of Judge Dredd. I mean look at him in the movie and tell me that isn't the same guy from the comics. No one could replace him as Judge Dredd. Sly has presence. I love Karl Urban, but he doesn't hold a torch to the big man.

The guy in the comics never took his helmet off ;-) I would have rather seen Clint Eastwood or Ron Pearlman as Dredd myself,

both have the essential Dredd profile and might have done a better job playing up the satirical elements in the original 2000 AD stories more than the Stallone film did.

Although I'll admit I've seen pictures of Urban dressed up as Dredd and he really looks :-P

If every police officer, everywhere, believed in upholding the law and doing the right thing as sincerely as Judge Dredd does... well, that's all we could possibly ask of law enforcement. But you don't want to see times so dire as he operates in in the film, or for police to be given so much power. Some will always misuse it.

Wow, i remember seeing this movie in the 90's, and it was pretty bad! Except for some geat art direction, costume design it was cheasy as hell! But Silvestri's score is epic. Great orchestra work here. A truely rich score. His score should really have been in much better movie. who knows maybe in the Dredd remake...oh, yeah there doin it.

I found the problem with the movie is that even though it looked great they tried mashing like 5 judge dredd stories together to create a bastardized version of all of the stories. So the characters acted almost nothing like they would in the comic and you had some truly inane situation and lines popping up here and there.

Ah, Silvestri's score for the Main Titles of the film... In my opinion the way it is in the titles is better, its nice how it comes in. I believe this is one of Alan's weaker scores though.
