This has to be the absolute best desi tuna recipe ever. We tried it once and ever since it has become at least a twice a week thing at my house. My daughter loves it, makes tacos with this recipe, adding sliced red onions, cilantro, and lettuce etc.
Out of all your recipes that we have tried this has been the best!
We've even adapted it to use fresh tilapia (small pieces) and it tastes fantastic!
1) guys who are not familiar with tandoori masala can use fish masala instead which is easily available 2) along with the dry powdered spices one can add 1/8 tbps roasted ground fenugreek seeds to gives a different punch to the dish.
3) curryleaves can be used while the cilantro is minused in which case
4) onions can be replaced by chopped shallots for a twist in the taste :)

If I don't find TUNA in water, what can I do? because I have never heard about tuna canned in water, in my country is only in oil. Thank you very much!
@okadda333 This is a childhood favorite my mom used to make it all the time:) And we used get the ones in oil too...mom used to wash it in a strainer and to get back the taste she would add extra black pepper....Oh I miss my mommy :) ....
Is this ok without silantro? I'm allergic to silantro, so for me, it tastes like soap. (Literally) I'm just wondering if it's a big part of the overall "flavor."
man, that is a lot of work. This is why I get so discouraged with cooking. There are so many freaking ingredients to work with. I don't even know how to mince.
They are both a combination or different spices. The Tandoori Masala is used more in dishes that need to be barbequed and Garam Masala is used in dishes and spices up the food. Garam Masala is used more than Tandoori Masala.
Love your recipes, but you need to do something about on the audio, frying the onion and comments about blow my speakers out. Most of the other videos I've viewed are low volume and sound like you're in metal box
I made this yesterday for dinner and spread it on a sandwhich. Even before trying it I knew it was gonna be good but this is beyond brilliant. Sooo yummy. Best sandwich filler ever. Thanks ladies!
oh schmatever, the best of us could never spell anyways ;) it doesn't take away from the fact that I actually cooked this for myself tonight, and it tasted fabulous :)
unfortunately, I could only fathom tuna in oil, but nevertheless, it was intensely flavourful...so props once again :)

@okadda333 : The Tuna in Oil will have a very different taste. We suggest, you get fresh Tuna and use it if you have an option.

thanks for the recipe! I actually don't have anything in my fridge at this moment :)
But just one question... Where can you get the spices that you used in this video??
animerox98 2 years ago
Indian stores carry all of those. If you don't have one close to you, try a organic/natural foods store, you'll find most of them there.
ShowMeTheCurry 2 years ago
asda should have them if you dont have a asian food store close by. actually most supermarket have the eastend spices. ask sum1 in store
