hey man is your mandola made to specification or is it one of the pre-specified Accord models? Because I;m undecided as to whether to get one made to specification or not cos the Accord one looks lovely as well. peace
@juskiddinfreak91 You can get them made or sometimes off the shelf in several places. In the UK, there are quite a number of makers. Google Thomas Buchanan mandolin, Fylde Instruments, Sobell Instruments or Freshwater Folk Instruments. The one shown is a Freshwater. They cost about £500 to make but DON'T believe Dave's estimated delivery dates. The other brands are more expensive. There are some East European and Far East ones available. I picked up a bargain UK one on Ebay.
great playing.. i read that these mandolins are made in Scotland. i'm shopping for an octave mandolin not made in china. how do you like this one? Freshwater has a new, cheaper line called Accord.. i wonder if one of those would be good enough for a beginner, or if it would be better to spend more money and get the higher priced one.. hmmm..
@klickstarter It's a tune named Vianne's Lullaby. I made this tune "on air" for my beautiful daughter Vianne when she was trying to catch the sleep. The "ghost" of this tune is "Down by the Sally Gardens" and I modified the rythmic but the notes are pretty like the same
That tune is just beautiful! Very nice playing, I like the sustain you get in that tuning for it, makes me want to go out and get an octave mandolin just to play that lol
so beautiful

This is "The Rising of the Moon" not played as it usually is (a march) but nicely rendered.
