MASC cannot be attacked like an inversion based scrambler.
It is a 5-band scrambler and the unauthorized listener would need to be able to locate properly at least the first two sub bands to hear the message (300-1200Hz).
If random sub band inversion is also used the sub band would also have to be undone.
MASC is a 5 band splitter with inversion. In other words the voice is filtered off into five bands of apprx. 500Hz each and then the sub bands are swooped around at a rate of 10 or more times per second. Due to the characteristics of voice, n band scramblers only have a limited number of good codes, usually around 11. Because of this I am sure MASC also randomly inverts some of the sub bands.
Guys, please can you help me? I've got a few of these but want to know what the buttons on the side are for. I know the middle one opens up the squelch, but what do the other two do? Also, has anyone checked with an ammeter how much current they draw? I'm still waiting for some new batterys for mine.
Oh the fun you can have with them babies my mate has an actual police walkie talkie but doesnt have the balls to interupt a police broadcasting message because these radios are so easy to track and trace but gud fun to listen into tho!
How is Tetra working out for them? As a side note that data sound with the one transmision was MODAT that was in use by many forces in the states including Lansing, Michigan before they went to EDACS trunking, and hei system is ProVoice and analog with ProVoice digital used for detectives and supervisors.
hey, where did you get these from? I want one to add to my collection of one, a motorola UHF GP340... (16ch) and do you know how to get the roger bleeps heard on the transmissions to work on the GP340? because i know it can be done, probablt in programming...
Thats why there out there for sale now, still a quality radio with good encryption! Airwave is a nightmare as any copper! ;-) well im happy with my sets.. anyone else using MASC on here?
You are correct that is plain 5 tine, the audio in the clip isnt MASC (that was just to show mmy MASC ones off) but I can do you all an encrypted clip if you all want to hear them? The radios came to me with four matching keys, and I then copied them over into my other units that had different keys :-) yeahhhhhhh now they all talk in MASC together!!
were you actually listening to the police

gibsongod123 2 years ago
this radio is uhf i believe, which is like 400mhz and up. cb is like 29mhz. so its a much lower band. its called "low band"

was that to me..?
jamesey25150 2 years ago
no, to the guy who made the video. press the red button :)
i heard from my ride along cop that it is basically a station clearing call that goes out. so you get massive back up.
blackhawk777 2 years ago
if its programmed to work. or just tip the radio over. lol.
gezelle007 2 years ago
It opens the mic up for 10 seconds. Doesn't do any more than that. It's a panic button.
CHANNELMICHAEL 2 years ago
or it transmits a unit id 3 times and an alarm if its programmed that way.
gezelle007 2 years ago
The ones I used were open the mic up to a CAD room for 10 seconds. Ofcouse the MTH800 is better, it sends an alert, opens mic and GPS location.
CHANNELMICHAEL 2 years ago
oic nice. haha. well thost are like tetra anyways so im not suprised. they are freaking lucky to get those lol.
