Thanks for "Precious Moments".....terrific lyrics...fine singer Matt Monro.....a perfect blend! Love those words....epitomize the finest in living that makes life worth giving....
Great story! I always admire the veterans hope in serving the nation. Unfortunately this film was made on low-budget. The story was told about 1940's, but the players hair and dress styles looked like in the last 70's to the early 80's. Thank you for uploading this with Matt Monro's The Precious Moments.
just played this song at my mums funeral today, never heard it before but found it written down on a scrap of paper in her purse everyone cried as it sums up our lives absolutely fantastic words matt monro was the best
This was played at my dad's funeral who recently passed away after a long illness. there wasn't a dry eye in the chapel, it was my mum and dad's favourite song by Matt Monro. RIP dad you'll be truly missed by all our family and friends. xxx
despite the eternal love to my lady i believe nothing is stronger than the men's friendship.i envy you guys those passionate moments,however i believe thera are people around me i trust and love
Remembering the "precious moments" of my life in 1980.........."if we could see into the past.......the moments of truth........the moments of giving that make love worthliving........". Thanks for having this precious video shared to everyone.
@JuanMacready And that's your comeback is it? I show you up for your ignorance and then you go and say something even more crass and ignorant. Hradly surprising. Fine, your hope for 2010 is to deprive a family of a husband, a father, a grandfather and a great grandfather, and the world of an actor of renown and Unicef of a fine ambassodor who has done so much ofr the deprived in the world (racist eh?) Well what a 'person' you are
@JuanMacready Have yuo even seen The Wild Geese? It's about a group of mercs trying to overthrow a corrupt regime and put a liberal in place who wants the best for Africa. Hardly racist
@JuanMacready what a charmer you are. If you knew your history you'd know this was a real SOE mission in WWII undertaken by several veterans of the 1899-1902 Boer War, so the actors were the right age. These were real men, but then you wouldn't know about that sort of thing would you
That Macready guy is a trollish prick, ignore him. This film, and The Wild Geese is a grand salute to men who we shall never see the like of again; brave fearless men who would never surrender. Real men, something a child like Macready could only dream to ever be. Ditto the actors, real warriors of WWII many of them, who fought so idiots like him had the right to free speech.
@JuanMacready typical 15 year old with ADD that wouldnt know a good film it came up and sat on his face....this movie was AMAZING!!! Your proabably one of those little douchebags that love the matrix
One vocal version of Warsaw Concerto music.....there is another one vocal version which is The World Outside by The Four Aces..........Thanks for having this beautiful song posted here in YT.
dear yorkie 78, thank you for uploading these classic film clips. They do indeed represent a wonderful chapter in my movie heart.. Such wonderful actors..... thank you
{ START of part 1 of 4 PARTS of this YouTube posting } What a great song this is! I heard it recently on a double-CD (issued by Reader's Digest) called 'Matt Monro - Yesterdays'. I do not yet have the sheet music for this nor know where to get it - let me know if you find out first! But I have found the lyrics online: at a Matt Monro website: mattmonro org uk (search for the song title 'The Precious Moments' in Lyrics) [{END of part 1 of 4 PARTS of this YouTube posting }
{ START of part 2 of 4 PARTS of this YouTube posting } [I can't paste the exact URL of the lyrics-weblink here at YouTube for some reason, the posting gets blocked!, so to find URL online just replace spaces in the URL with full-stops.] The melody is from Richard Addinsell's 'Warsaw Concerto' (written for a superb wartime film called 'Dangerous Moonlight'). IMHO it is one of the most romantic & lyrical pieces of 'modern' classical music. { END of part 2 of 4 PARTS of this YouTube posting }
{ START of part 3 of 4 PARTS of this YouTube posting } It was then converted to the song 'The Precious Moments' as sung by Matt Monro here. The lyrics were by Leslie Bricusse (who of course wrote the musical 'Doctor Doolittle', amongst other musical bits & bobs!). The song (& the score for the whole film 'The Sea Wolves') was arranged by Roy Budd. That's the sum total of my knowledge so far!! :-) { END of part 3 of 4 PARTS of this YouTube posting }

Barbara Kellerman was the best thing about this movie. She was one foxy chick, luscious lips, great looking orifice.

Do you have the complete movie to upload? I love these actors and movies based on true events.

Then purchase the DVD and give at least that modest financial support to movies like this (and The Wild Geese for maybe the best example.)
