Hi I'm looking for a new blackberry and it's really hard to find an in depth review. However, your review was detailed and informational. Now I know who to come to if I want a new phone. A perfect review.
@RainbowGeek12345 Hi! If you want to remove a contact, email or text, select it and then press the "Del" button on the keyboard. You can also delete items by selecting them, then press the "BlackBerry Button" (the one with all those dots) and select "Delete". Deleting applications is done by going to: Options > Device > Application Management. Cheers!
DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE ! I bought one in Jan 2012 and it kept freezing 2 weeks later ( only 2 apps on device ) 02 replaced it for a new one and one week later same problem freezing and only way to fix it was to remove the battery then 10 minutes later it froze again . 02 offered me another blackberry but i choose to upgrade to an iphone because i knew it wouldnt freeze . This phone is good when you first get it but in the long run its very unreliable .
@cvgshardraco I recommend the 9360 if you use bbm or texting a lot , but if you use bbm a lot and still want a touch screen then get the 9790 bold it's touch and type and the price isn't very different it's about 100 dollars more but it's worth it
@podedim Haha, it was the Samsung Nexus S. A pretty simple phone...actually had to download a stopwatch app since it didn't come with one (weird). Cheers!
hi, im currently owning a blackberry odin and thinking about switching to this one, what do u think
? should i do it or not?
another thing that is bothering my mind is that some of the review says the button (call button, menu button, back button) are hard to press is it true?
@Leah280109 Hi! Oh wow, the Odin (Storm). Many can agree that the Odin was not one of RIM's greatest handsets. That aside, the Curve 9380 would absolutely destroy the Odin in every respect. It's not even fair to compare. However, keep in mind, the Curve lineup is mid-level. The correct device to compare to the Odin should be the Torch 9860, with a very similar design (but a LOT better). As for the buttons on the 9380, they are a little stiff, mainly due to the small design of the handset.
PLEASE HELP: how to LOCK the screen in PORTRAIT? i want the screen to stay in portrait mode forvever even if i rotate and move the phone... please help..
Im getting a new phone and iv never had a blackberry before and i hate the keyboard used on them but like the interface.... Is this better thn the galaxy ace?
@lalie16123 Hi! No, the phone does not vibrate when a screen selection is made...that's typically a feature of Android devices. As for switching to the 9380 from a 9300, the most significant thing to keep in mind here is the keyboard. If you text/email a lot on your 9300, which has a keyboard, then you need to keep in mind that the 9380 is touch-only, and is something you will have to adapt to. Specs wise, absolutely, the 9380 is a winner, but it all comes down to how you use it.
Very well done video Wirelessinsider. I appreciate your concise and to the point, well organized review. Based on this video, I find the Blackberry 9380 fits my needs just fine as opposed to the Blackberry Torch. For half the price, I am willing to concede to a "slower" processor and a fixed focus camera (after all, this is a communication device for gosh sakes).
ahahaha. This is also a stress test bec of testing how fast to switch screen and opening the tab.. haha. you did not show how to text message... my most awaited part of any review :((((((((
@LaHedare Hi! I demo-ed the texting capabilities of the device using the virtual keyboard @7:30. It should hopefully give you an idea of what to expect! Cheers.
i dont like the qwerty keyboards on blackberrys anyway and i like touchscreen phones and i can get it for £200. is there any phones that i could get with flash at this price cus i would use the wifi alot
@dannyngo56 Why thank you good sir! I may have some hiccups here or there, but I just try to deliver as much as I can, as quickly as I can (as some have noticed haha). Cheers! :)
the nfc does fuck all on my 9900... and the browser is far too sensitive to touch.... also having picked up a galaxy nexus the other day.... my thoughts were that blackberry seemed dated in comparison.....
@WirelessInsider I meant BBM not BAM ( the auto correction is useless on the iPad 2). Do you have to charge a new phone for a long time once you get it, and why?
@XgamerHere Haha alright. BBM is integrated into all BlackBerries. Once you have a data package (with Blackberry Internet Service, or BIS) then BBM will work no problem. As for the battery, whenever you get a new device (phone, laptop, etc.) the first time you get it, drain the battery to 0% and then fully charge to 100%, with the device off. This calibrates it to the lowest-low and highest-high. Do not do this all the time, maybe once every few months. But if you can, always charge while off.
@2468gman Hi! Yeah, it is more of a mid-introductory-level device. Wait for the BlackBerry 9790 launching in a week or so! You may like it (review to come soon). Cheers!
@wirelessInsider ok , but the strange thing is they are the same price for contract. Both are £20.50 for 24 month with 200min , unlimited texts and Internet. I am gonna get the torch 9860 but do you know what blackberry booster is? Is it bam? If not how much is bam? Thanks.
@XgamerHere Wow, that's a pretty-good deal! As for BlackBerry Booster, I'm assuming that's the battery-saving app from BB App World correct? If so, the best thing to keep in mind is that with any touchscreen device, it's very tough to extend battery life via software. Best trick is to calibrate the battery properly when you first get the phone, and charge it while it’s off when you can. As for BAM, I couldn't find anything on it...what App is that?
@XgamerHere Would love to, but obviously the 9860 would win. It's almost twice as fast with a larger screen for better typing and media playback. No fair comparing Curves to Torches! Thanks.
