-lightscribe double/dual layer 16xmax

-512 mb of memory

-160 gb of hard drive

-pci express slot.

my computer is a compaq presario sr2020nx or something like that.

Most important thing I noticed is you need to verify if you have a PCI Expressx16 slot, this slot has more metal contacts than the regular PCI Express slots. The 9600GT use PCI Express x16. If you just have the regular PCI Express slot and plug it in, the graphics will be slower than whatever card you have now, because it needs the bigger PCI Express slot.
