  • This is such a dream. It looks "easy" (for a talented person) but this is still on a completely different level. I love how it looks in 2nd minute the most ^^

  • I can't stop watching these videos; these would go good with some music! You have such inspiring artwork

  • So beautiful!!! I've just discovered your site. Thanks so much!! Blessings always, Cl-Marie

  • You're too good.

    It's not fair :-)

  • Calculating back from the number of snapshots: 13.6 hours. But this is not counting breaks, interruptions etc...

  • How many hours did this take?

  • Brilliant.

  • Fab as always. Could you please show us how you set up your still lifes for painting including the light source etc. Thanks

  • @KittyTempleton hi, please see my blog (see the link in the description of this movie)...

  • Welke borstels gebruik je AUB. Hog bristle?

  • very nice

have you any face book page so tell us please

    thanx for sharing the post

please tell us the colours also thanks

  • genial he

  • Always shines much light in your paintings! It seems to me that your art is in the midst of realism and impressionism, is the best thing. Lights, shadows and contours blend.

  • ... and notice how the light reflections on the lemon fool the camera. Fantastic!

  • hey I notice you are handling your values and paint in general really well. My question to you is: how do you prevent your painting from becoming muddy when painting wet into wet. A lot of times even when I try to add a dark or light accent (for example, the deep cast shadow underneath the lemons) they usually come out very grey and not as dark as I would like. Same goes for color accents as well, where the color sort of blends with the paint rather than stay on top. Any advice?

  • @greg90pl Hmm it sounds as if you are using low-pigmented paint, ie. student quality. With this kind of paint it is difficult to paint wet into wet, as it contains too much oil and filler, so not enough capacity to cover paint that is already there. I use Old Holland paints, with that one its easy to paint over. For my palette, please cf the faq on my site (josvanriswick. com). Alternatives are Williamsburg or maybe Rembrandt and Winsor & Newton Artist Grade paint...

  • @josvanr I always wondered the same thing - thanks!

  • I love the bottle! I wish we could see your live subject?

  • @KMayflower Hi, you mean a photo of the setup? I just uploaded one on my blog, the link in the description of this movie....
