you should go to your local guitar center, grab an ibanez starter kit. they run about 300 bucks, good quality bass that will last u a long time. as for songs, i cant really reccomend alot, i mean try and find some songs that are the same notes over and over, for practice at fingerstyle. then step up to some advanced songs with alot of fretting like some chili peppers songs (that arent slap), as for slappiung, higher ground by chili peppers definately the easiest to learn. hope this helps :D
