  • Many thanks..great video instruction..right on the money

  • thank you so much for your video. it is really a big help and it works...

  • In response to GiorgiaXenakis, I use Popcorn to burn, there is an option for disc compression. Works out nicely.

  • Dear Steve! Thanks for your nice Video!

I just have a little problem by burning the ripped stuff....

It is always more that 4.7 GB

and it does not fit into a normal DvD.

    Maybe I do something wrong?!?¨

I would really appreciate your help!!!!

    Warmest Regards

    Giorgia

  • Why do you use two different softwares, MacDVD Ripper and Toast, instead of just using one or the other?

  • Thanks Steve, you're one of the best Tutors I have met.Keep up the your wonderful impact on all of us.Thanks again.

    Sam.

  • thanks, great information. I could not get the toaster but the MacDVDRipper down it all for me. Thanks so much, followed you on twitter and looking forward to some more great information, (and possible my free copy of DVD ripper)

  • Hey Steve--

Really liked the video! Very instructive and easy to follow! I wish I'd seen this before wading through all the non-sensical stuff. Top notch!

If you're still awarding the MDRP (which was great by the way), I could really use it!

    All the best! --RC

  • Hey Steve, great video. Quick question....I converted the DVD from .dvdmedia to .avi and then dragged the VIDEO_TS file to Toast Titanium. Toast Titanium crashes at that point with every try. Suggestions? Solutions?

  • How is the Video quality using this Method ? Nice Vid !!

  • Yo im following you on twitter but i cant message you cause your not following me ... so can i get a copy of that Mac ripper? ... thanks man!

  • Hi Steve, awesome video. Can you please hook me up with Macdvd ripper pro, dont have a tweeter account. Thanks again

  • Yes it did!!!!!

  • Hey Steve great video!!! Quick question can I do this with mdrp & toast titanium 10?

  • This may help some people:

I tried this exact method but with the trial version of the Mac DVDripper pro, but I was given 5 free burns with the trial. I converted the .dvdmedia file into .avi but it never gave me the folder with the AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS in it. BUT instead of converting into avi, I converted into .iso

    That worked beautifully.

So if anyone is having the same problem I had, just convert to iso and you'll see the folders.

Thank you for posting this video!

  • man you are awsome ,you know ii have puted alot of mony on my dvd colection and like you a have two kidsand i 'll like to back up some of my big colection but i dont have a mac .m i able to doit whit a hp? anyways you are helpfull thank you

  • do you know how to burn avi files using idvd and what other program compares to idvd thanks

  • Excellent video. very helpful. Thanks!

  • why do you have to use toast when ripperpro will let you burn as well?

  • What the eff man, where's the Duck Hunt wallpaper?

  • Nah,nah we all pirates!!! ;+)

  • Great Info Steve! Thanks!! Ok I just finished ripping the my DVD using Mac DVD ripper Pro. I have Toast 11 Pro for the Mac. is there a way to just take the file and convert the movie into the Itunes format without having to burn the movie to DVD first? I don't need another copy of the DVD. I just need it converted to play on itunes.

  • I'm so glad to see more vids!!!!!

  • I have 2 questions :

    - Does mac offer a way to rip a dvd or i should use a third party app like toast to do it?

    - How do you do these graphical things with 3 screens that you do in your videos? ;)

Great vide by the way. Thank you

  • @ehsan83 No, you need to use third party applications like the ones Steve is using in the video, i use HandBrake which is an excellent application, i can rip the DVD that i bought, it takes around the same length as the dvd, so a 2 & 1/2 hour film will take the same, with handbrake you can change the output settings, add subtitles, rip the extra or deleted scenes, support for iphone, ipad, or Universal which is the one i use but it makes the file size bigger, 2 &1/2 hour film is 2.69GB.

  • I Steve, I Just want to nowk who to save the proyect in the hard drive? do not make dvd thanks

  • excellent tutorial ....question if a do not have toast titanium do you think work liquid cd... i have a dvd 4.9GB the ripper process was perfect but wen I going to burn in dvd say i need more space in the dvd (used liquid cd) can you give me some recommendation or maybe toast made the different I want to make sure before buy it...thankssssss

  • sure, no piracy ;) LOL

but cool think to blaming it on kids... or better, using it as a reason to make this video :)))

  • Part 2: It also says the dvd size is 6.2 GB

  • @TVFOGGED this method shows you ANY movie. Have you ever had a current movie like a disney or sony movie, and you can't. There are other many DVD rippers that will rip older movies with no problems like handbreak etc... . This tutorial also shows you how to put it on a dvd as a backup, not just as a file. check your settings and output when you are converting because 24.2 gb is way too big considering the original is smaller than that

  • @TVFOGGED you actually look a little more carefully my friend. at 5:36 is shows the file size is 3.96 thanks for watching though!

  • @stevesmacfix how did you get the file down to 3.96 from 6.2?

  • Why would it rip the dvd to an .iso file. I tried ripping another older movie and it worked fine. Trying to rip True Grit that I bought right now and it ripped it to .iso the first time so I switched it over to .avi and can get it to play in VLC. Ripping it again but it is saying the VIDEO_TS size is 24.2 GB and taking about 160mins. It is not an Blu-ray dvd either. Ripping all video's, menu's, and bonuses. Will It compress it to fit on an normal dvd or is this one of those extra layer dvds?

  • Intro Tutorial please

  • would an application like handbrake do the same thing as the dvd ripper?

  • @thenxthero for the most part yet. Handbreak is great! It doesn't rip every movie though

  • That file size is over 7GB's, that will take up space in your mac pretty fast if you have a lot of dvd's that need ripping.

  • @w35t51d369 thats why you burn it and put it back on a dvd my friend. Thanks for watching!

  • its illagle to to copy/rip a movie, even if you brought and own it in the UK now. :(

  • Good video, but just use Handbrake, it's free too.

  • @man444utd handbreak is great but it doesn't bypass all movie encrytion. I use handbreak it its awesome but sometimes the encryption will stop handbrake from ripping

  • Wow. Got to try this now that I am on summer break. My son goes through a lot of same DVD's.

  • Thanks Steve! Great to see a new video!

  • @stevensonrf thanks!! its been a while! thanks for dropping by always stevensonrf

  • nice video. hook me up with the mac dvdripper pro program man. I was trying to back up my insanity videos that I purchased. however , the mac the ripper is not working nor the handbreak.. thx

  • WOW HE MADE A VID WHEN I SUB TO HIM THE OTHER DAY

  • nightshift at hospital ?

  • Good Vid man as always. I use Handbreak to rip my dvds and Burn to burn my dvds. What the difference between the programs?

  • Great video. Very clear and easy to follow. That's why you re so great.

  • My favorite quote: ''Now, why would you wanna do this?'' ^^

  • good work steve. thank you :D

  • Great to see a video from you again!! :D

  • can you also do the same for software disk

  • YES ..!! Steve is back ...!!

  • Hi Steve,

quick question. when u open or save a file my computer by default will go to the last folder I was in. Is there a way to set the computer to go to the desktop by default instead of the last folder you where in.

    Thanks

I have an intel imac with snow leapord version 10.6.7

  • What type of blank disc do u use?

  • Hey Steve it's nice to see you again man...nice vid...

  • Hey Steve! great I had this software and never knew this - ___- haha thanks for the vid! I was wondering, what are your thoughts on the new Final Cut Pro X? lol I just got Apple Pro Certified in FCP 7 and now the new came out haha lmao! :D Anywho I'm here if you ever would like anything :)

  • i thought u died!!!

  • I like HandBrake.

  • hey steve will you be putting more vids in the summer

  • i prefer to use Handbreak

  • @scoobydoovt handbreak is awesome! Only problem with it is that it does not rip all DVD's. A lot of paramount, sony and disney movies will not rip with handbreak. I love handbreak!

  • I use Handbrake to digitize DVD's which I like for playing movies on the iPhone and iPad. I never used Mac DVDRipper Pro so I'll give it a try.

  • @JSantana319 Handbrake is good! This method words if handbrake wont rip it

  • Been a while Steve-O but its great to see you still got it man, keep up the great work :)

  • @stojy161994 Its been a while my friend! Are you on twitter? Hope to hear from you man!

  • @stevesmacfix Yeah its been wayyyy to damn long lol and i was but i hadnt used the damn thing in so long it got deactivated lol ill make a new and join the greatest Twitter fam eva!!! :)

  • Thanks for a great informational video Steve, i've been waiting for another one of your videos for a while.

  • @revinriley Thanks man! Ive been waiting for time to give me time to make more! LOL thanks revinriley for watching!

  • Great vid, thanks for sharing. I have one question though, I've been using to rip just like this program. But what ripper can I use that will allow me to rip the disc in a smaller file under a gig or so? Can this ripper do it? I've tried mactheripper, but it doesn't do that. Thanks.

  • @msviswan Notice in the video that the original copy was 7GB and once he finished ripping it, it went down to 3.9GB. Just make sure that you don't add special features or any other stuff besides the main movie.

  • @JSantana319 Exactly!!!

  • @msviswan You can use handbreak to shrink the quality

  • Your video intro is epic! What did you use to edit it?

  • @PianoScience actually without asking, a fellow youtuber made it, and I told him Id use it! @JDSpiderman3 on youtube hooked it up!

  • great video steve! if you can only upload once a month, as long as its good quality like this, than who cares! quality of quantity!

  • @haltzy thanks haltzy! glad to hear you enjoyed it!

  • Well done tutorial, I learned a lot! Can I still get a copy Steve : )
