Im born and raised in Port City (Lakeside projects aka Jackson heights) and if u wouldve made a right on any of those streets before u got 2 that bridge, things couldve gotten ugly for u. Alendale, my old projects, and the bottom was down the street from Texas street. Some serious gangstas roamed those streets.
I'm from the Shreveport-Bossier City area, although I haven't lived there in close to 26 years. I remember the old timers referring to Allendale as "Little Italy". But alas, nothing stays the same.
@taybeatdown I was in colorconfused (one of the more recent bands) and broken by envy. You probably saw the second one if you went to big shows because we got to play with iwabo a while back haha.
All I can say is i sure like it here a whole lot better that Alexandria. What you see in this video are some of the older run down areas of downtown. Its really pretty cool here--there are things to do when you get bored, like come to the library and get on the internet, or one of the many casinos within walking distance from downtown. The Eldorado and Sam's Town are on the S'port side of the river and then they have Boomtown and diamond jack's on the Bossier side of the river, a mini Vegas!
Zach1740, that's the old downtown and the neighborhood surrounding it. It has seen brighter days but I like the old buildings. If you are planning on visiting the area I recommend Kings Hwy for some local diners and antique stores, Youree Dr. for regular chain store shopping, and Line Ave. for local business and boutiques. There's more to Shreveport than that but that's were I spend alot of my time.
Is this near Kingston something? Road? Avenue? Street? I dunno. All I know is I'm going there in 3 months and I'm interested knowing stuff around there. This looks good though.
Lived there 30 years ago...you could still get around in S'port back then without being a crime statistic...looks like a ghost town now, except the ghosts have guns.
Watched the video more than a few times. My mother and other family are buries in St Joesph's cemetary on that street, caught the arch, as I zipping by. Got to be careful when in that area for sure. This sure was a thriving area at one time I have been told. Is there still a Murphy Street?
Been up and down that street a zillion times. Way, way back that was a happening street. Dead now because it borders Allendale, one of the armpits (that's being kind) of Shreveport. You could frequently hear gunshots coming from Allendale at like 4 in the morning, sometimes automatics, occasionally shotguns. Hopefully they'll flatten that area if-when I-49 ever gets completed.
It's as boring and dead as it looks, folks. TO THIS DAY! I know, because I live there.

"i was in alandale and found 2 dime bags and case of .338 ultra mags"
Wouldn't doubt it for a second. Your spelling and punctuation skills validate the claim.
