  • Saw them at the Indiana State Fair in 1991. They didn't have Tommy. I thought it was a good show. We were not too far from the stage. Same side as Dennis with his piano.

  • this is such a melodic song i seen styx in 77 or 78come sail away tour and i seen them in the late 90s one of the best bands of the 70s i think they were better in the 70s

  • @brrs131 You should see them soon, they are really rockin now. Although its only James Young (JY) and Tommy Shaw (and some replacements) but they are still GREAT... in fact more rockin now.. harder... much harder, but better.

  • @galaxian00 I agree!

  • Come Sail Away is a great song. This is a great composition.

  • YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEs

  • my bad, meant to say winter time

  • Anyone else think this sounds a lot like Steve Millers , "Summertime"?

  • Let me preface this by saying I'm a fan and saw them 20+ years ago in Philly, but. I guess I was too young to notice it back then, but after viewing other Styx vids on You Tube I'm wondering, is the lead singer gay? I don't care if he is but he has a lot of effeminate moves and mannerisms. Anyone know one way or another?

  • are you referring to Dennis DeYoung? He is very animated and theatrical, but no he's not gay. been married for over 30 years. Chuck Panozzo, the bass player here, is. Check out his autobiography, the Grand Illusion. Doesn't deal very much with styx, but is a very interesting read.

  • Thanks for the intelligent reply. I was half expecting a bunch of flames. I asked the same about Paul Stanley from Kiss a while back and you'd have thought I said something horrible. I just never noticed back then that they both have a lot of effinate mannerisms. Love both groups BTW.

    Thanks.

  • Yes, but Rock Hudson was married, Elton John was married... heck even Ronald Reagan was married... :-|

  • @AMXhotrod Naw, that's just the way they dressed back then. Very nice guy, a bit "theatrical" but excellent voice and keyboardist. I wish they could have worked out their differences, I think they made a good balance of hard rock and rock ballads/love songs.

  • @galaxian00 Thanks for the clarification. BTW saw you like Chicago, I do as well. Brings back alot of good memories.

  • @AMXhotrod : No. Both "Lady" and "Babe" were dedicated to Dennis's wife, Suzanne. They are still happily married. Chuck (bassist) is gay, but was always the most low-key guy in the band. BTW, this vid is without Tommy Shaw. The left-handed guy on the right is, I think Glen Burtnik. Glen now is a member of Dennis's band.

  • @2333jim Thanks for the info.

  • Styx line up: James Panozzo, Tommy Shaw, the late John Panozzo, RIP brother, you are missed, Dennis De Young, and his ego. Don't get me wrong, Styx was one of THE best 70s bands hands down but, damn with that line up even I could sound good! Come on Denny, you know you had the World of Rock by the short hairs with STYX!

  • wingnut, You forgot JY...James Young on guitar in your line up. Check out Miss America...he rocks it out

  • My bad, thanks for the correction. Hey, and I am a Red Sox fan. I know what it is like to want! The Cubbies day will happen! Chicago is my fav big city! I still want to spend a summer afternoon at Wrigley. Someday...

  • tommy wasnt in the band at this point...glen burtink was tommy on this tour.

  • tommy was with damn yankees at this time wasn't he?

  • yeah he was....doing much bigger shows as well

  • James Panozzo? Don't you mean Chuck Pannozzo?

  • nice lungs dennis!

  • i love tthis song its my fave\

  • hey i love this song !!!!!!!!!
