I saw this game for sale in Funcoland circa 199X, can't remember the exact year, for like $60. I was like why would I buy a used NES game for more than a brand new SNES game?! *face palm* I had bought Nosferatu instead grrr
the nerd was right.. it's definitly and DEFINITLY not worth spending so much money on this.. c'mon serious? a nes game? =/ And think of it.. You could also just buy the the real games.. And then have the full versions.. people who spend that much money on this game.. Definitly don't have a life! I'm sorry to say so..
@jmdogful I'd prefer not to go too much into detail out of respect for the buyer, but it was a fair price two years ago. Obviously it sells for a good bit more today.
Oh, andI suppose you weren't up toyour A game at Tetris... I'd say you probably wouldn't have been one of th people to actually get this game in the competition ;)
The cart is expensive cause it was used in a national championship that Nintendo ran. They only made so many of them and it was never for sale to the public. Search the web for more info on the subject.
Thanks...yeah, never seem to have an issue with Tetris and then I play in front of a camera. If I was in the actually championship back in the day I probably would have choked ;)
wow man that is insane on how you were able to get your hands on this game. you friend had to be completely happy in this investment no matter how much you charged him.
I did buy it from another collector who is a friend of mine. Never played in the championships myself...although I was at one of the local circuits for it when it stopped in Philly.
A little of both. I really had to think about selling it or not...but too many factors were there to make my decision a yes. I will miss it a little, but it helps me start one of my life's goals and it went to a friend so I can't complain :)
Good question. Personally I wouldn't really consider anything else I have a "grail". While I do have some other valuable items (no where near as the NWC of course), I don't really put them in the same league. If we are talking about current value to determine a "grail" then I guess my complete Earthbound would be next, but it just doesn't feel the same.
I could buy Mario Rad Race and Tetris for like 15 bucks.
