However, you're, 'unprepared' ish style, takes away from the video. You can easily edit out your first start when mentioning the camcorders, and other small tweeks to make the video much more enjoyable.
The semi-rant about your dislike to people who dislike japanese culture... how is the related to the video? again, a little prep and edit can make a huge difference in future videos
I love japanese culture, but as far as manga and anime goes, I am picky with the series I watch. I really dislike series with pointless humor or fanservice that don't seem to have any plot (or any worth mentioning at least), and school life series generally aren't for me either. Therefore I find it hard to get into new series. I don't know if I'd find much merchandise for older series in Akiba, but I'd be curious to go for the experience.
I used to be very much in love with anime growing up from childhood into my mid-teenage years. I've had since grown out of this anime/otaku phase and my interests have moved on. However, during my time in college, i've stumbled upon a fully paid scholarship to study abroad in Japan, in which I have completed, and at the end of that program, I spent 5 days in the beautiful city of Tokyo! :)
Even grown out of the phase of Otaku/Anime, being there in Akiba was a surreal dream. Everyone, bring cash, lots and lots of cash! Don't expect to do everything, EVERYTHING in one day. To experience "One Area" of Tokyo takes over a day (especially in the well known, populated, commercial/shopping driven areas (AKA AKIHABARA). Don't be surprised to see many "adult" stores too, it's very common and nothing sacred here.
Everyone good luck, you will all experience that wonderful city some day!
Actually I knew a lot about Akihabara, but still a nice video.
I'm sure I will go sometime, probably within the next 4 years already!! :D
This year I went to Hong Kong and they had a mini Akihabara and even a mini mall for anime figures only, it was the place most similar to Japan I've been yet. I went to different countries in Asia before, but never to Japan.
Hopefully I'm going next year, but that means I have to save money now and buy nothing until summer 2012, that's difficult!
I'v wanted to go to Japan since i wuz 11!!!!! thats three years......but i live in CA .my mom keeps saying I might grow out of otaku/japanese culture but I honestly can't imagine that happenning anytime soon!!!! maybe I can be an xchange student there someday!
I would want to mostly cosplay like crazy and go to maid cafes, arcades, and the insane anime stores. And I'm going to beg to there for my 18th birthday, 2 years!!!
cant wait till im 16 my friend and i are going to go there cuz his parents are going with to jp but i will for sure go to akiba before anything! only 2 more grades up left to wait >.< and my life will feel complete xD also i did not know you made a vid of akiba mike
I really wish to go to japan as an animator I really hope i can go try to do the abroad progam for my school too Akihibara Would be cool to go to Soping and seeing the sight even living there it would be a dream come ture.
@Jacomelo117 I definitely agree. However, I must emphasize the importance of price checking. If you are low on time (a month is more than enough if you spend a few days in Akiba) then you shouldn't really care so much since its only a few bucks variation per item but those few bucks can add up to hundreds depending on how much you spend.
hey Tang, i was wondering if you go buy products in akibahara can you bring the products by plane or do you mail all of the prooducts to a respective address?
@LunVier Good question. If its small enough to fit in your luggage I believe you can but if they are huge, you would need to ship them over. If you ship them over, make sure you pack it nice and securely since it may be damaged during transport.
When I was your age, I had the same dream of visiting Japan. Back then anime in America was mostly raw un-subtitled. I did eventually make it a few times because my brother taught conversational English there after college. I am definitely pulling for you success dude, because it's awesome there:)
Decent video.

me and my bro are planning to spend a month in japan and just have a blast....but this will be tons of money so i think it's time to start saving up.
I think i would just sightsee and buy loads of things as I walk down the streets of Akihabara and...well....nerdgasm.
