What amazed me more was that I could still do this at the end of 2007 when I recorded this video set, but I haven't played C:SS since then...

@ThePsychoCrusher89 I love this game. I'm the same way with it. After a while you just kind of know how to avoid everything and can go through the game withought losing many lives ranking high. It stays with you too. Like if I were to go back and play Alien Wars I'm pretty sure I'd breeze through that one too. I did with Hardcorps recently.

I love this game. Its beautiful. Every mini boss has a transformation that makes sense! Contra used different camera angles which are great for the ps2!

good run but coulda been better, for example u dont have to use the missles when the bot is lifting the train just go to edge and shoot the grenades, also use the flame thrower when them blue orbs come at you at train part, and you can hug the "wall" when the grenades are being shot at you while runnin thru the last part of the train u wont get hit =P still pro run GJ

I love this stage :D...the third part of the boss left me with three lives and my friend with none:

"Goddamned robot, at least he finally bites the dust"

"Don`t bet on it, he`s invicible. He`ll kill you even with his legs alone"

Needless to say, I finished the level with 2 lives xD

This game should have been called contra 4! People always confuse it for 'just another shit PS contra'! Every other playstation contra doesnt follow the basic formula - but this one does! 2-d left 2 right scrolling, 3 hits and your dead, 8 degrees of shooting ect! Its even made by the original creator!

This is the best looking contra game by far! I loved it! Make sure you check it out if you like the nes/snes/ds contra games!

Okay, there's no Hard difficulty. There's also no secret levels. There are two final levels if you play on Normal with an A rank or higher.

If you're insistent that there's a secret difficulty, the by all means, make a video and prove it. But there's not.

My comment's not showing up, so this may be out of order. For the missile guys who come after the blue sub ship is gone, two quick charged flame shots should take them down. But be quick or they'll bomb you. Machine gun the missile riders who come up behind you. Sometimes the flame shot won't kill them in one hit. For the train the flame thrower is your best friend. It eats up the bullets that the motorcycle guys shoot at you, not to mention killing them quickly.

You can also use the flamethrower when attacking the cannon before the motorcycle enemies. Lock the bike in place next to the train and use the flame whip to pick off the homing rounds since they can only come at you from 2 directions instead of 3 now. Then just aim to the left when the cannon has to cool down.

First of all, this is not a time attack. This is an S Rank video. Second of all, and I've said this before: there are two difficulties on Shattered Soldier. Normal and Easy, and this is on Normal.

I have C4. I beat Hard once. I can beat Normal most times without dying. My problem is that when you die, you lose your weapon, and the pea shooter makes Hard incredibly difficult.

Personally, around the 3:00 mark when those bubbles come at you, I use the fire whip.
