The Apple III and The Apple Lisa were flops and they were released in the early 80's, At that time IBM and Microsoft's dominance in the office began to rise. The good ol' Apple II line was the only one keeping the company alive. The reason why Apple was prosperous in the late 80's was because the Macintosh was getting better and better, while the Apple II withered.
