  • I've been doing this for years. FYI instead of putting the glass container in boiling water, I have found that putting it in the freezer for an hour works well also. The wax pops out easy.

  • I save my jars too, although I use mine for knick knacks, awesome great idea!

  • Putting the jar in the freezer also helps release the wax.

  • Good idea- I always hated throwing these glass containers away, but I never knew how to clean them. Great tips.!!

  • Good tips Nap.ive always tried to resuse the candle containers. I also reuse most of my hair product containers once Ive completed the product ..at least the larger rounded ones. Many labels are removeable and i can use them for hair pins, ouchless bands, cotton balls, q tips..whatever will fit ..the lids are secure when placed back on the containers and if youre reallly creative //add a little fringe for a truly girly look.

  • cute cute!!

  • Most of the labels say "Do not use as food containers" so be careful which ones you use.

  • How cool! I would always throw them out... this would be good for Shea Butter!! Thanks!

  • I am SO annoyed with myself. You make things seem so simple and make me feel so "DUH".LOL. Being a Bath and Body Works candle addict, I have thrown away HUNDREDS of perfectly good glass containers! Thanks for saving me from all my waste. I love your handy tips.

  • I'm so glad that I am not the only person who saved Glass jars. I've saved most of my jars to use as storages for my food, I cooked a lot and I have a lot of dry food so glass containers help me organized them without the clutter. Kudos.

  • dude, you're a genius.

  • I've always wanted to reuse my candle jar but could never find a way to remove the wax without it getting messy until now. Thank you! Now to figure out what to put in it...

  • Very resourceful!

  • great tip never thought to use it afterwards

  • Well coincidentally I was cleaning my old glass jars out today ....;0)))))) I was going to make floral arrangements to put in some of them and some to put my make-up brushes in....;0)))))

  • Great idea...i will never throw my candle jars away again.

  • Now that's some good info! Awesome idea!

  • I thought I was the only one who did this hahaha I'm not alone yaaaaay!! Thanks girl!

  • Great tutorial never thought of re-using them. Thanks

  • funny I was just thinking about throwing away one of our glass candle holders yesterday, but remembered watching a show on recycling old things - so this is great now I know how to do it =)

  • creative as always i thought i was the only one into reusing stuff aroud the house...lol

  • Did you make those gingerbread man cookies? They look sooo good :)

  • This is a great tip!!!! I always hate to throw out my candle jars but could never figure out how to get the rest of the wax out.

  • Great idea :-) I get the wax out by putting the jar in the freezer for a few hours and popping the frozen wax out with an old knife. I use this technique for candles in jars, tealights, etc. The freezer method works if candle wax spills on fabric too (like a tablecloth). P.S. folks: don't burn candles near anything flammable flowers, paper, photos, etc. (@Naptural85 - I figured you had them there just to make them look pretty in the video.)

  • "If you're young, please do not do this without supervision." Uh, but you're young! LOL!!! Like!

  • That was a really great idea. To bad I don't purchase candles in a jar. But I'll keep the idea in mind for the future.

  • Yes!!!!! Love this sis; thanks!!!!!

  • good idea!

  • Great tip, of course in my case, I'd probably have to burn my candles first! LOL Thanks anyway though!

  • Another tip if the residue does not come completely off from the label is to use cotton ball and alcohol to wipe it away for a cleaner finish. It is quick and easy. Some use fingernail polish remover, not sure if it leaves a cloudy mist. Just an FYI.

  • You Rock!

  • I also use mine as a makeup brush holder, pen/pencil holder and rooting a small plant to name a few things. I decorate the outside with ribbons and beads and no one knows anything.

  • great tip

  • I love this..thank you!
