@dood610365 when you are in the nether each step you take is like 8 or somthing in the real/minecraft world so if he walks straight for a while and builds a portal he will render new/1.8 land :) hope this helped

Next episode you should pack up a bed brand new diamond equipment and travel with a bunch of maps and set up a fort in new locations OR ... build a bunker like Brotherhood of steel style in each biome i.e desert , Forrest , snow , grasslands , and build it like only the entrance is noticeable and the rest underground and if you build inside a mountain make glass to see outside

Just a suggestion... You said you may want to build a shrine out of wool for creepers, well instead of running around looking for sheep look for a spider spawner then make wool out of the strings..... or make a mob spawner and sitt afk for a little while...
