man if this is a buttery board for the park at least fuckin get someone good and film them hittin boxes and rails jesus like ya every snowboard can carve on the hill dont need to show just carving
i'm snowboarding for 12 yrs and in my opinion and experience freestyle stance is about 18 / -15 and max stance (i don't know what's scale on fix is). Max if the board is in your size for instance- 172 and 65 kilos --> burton love 152.
@HwK14 your angles are your own personal preference, every person has a different stance thats comfortable to them... a general rule that most go by is a duck stance for park riding however still its what feel comfortable.
@PortersLars because if you dont sag your pants below your asscrack and have a stupidly wide 30 inch stance and wear an XXL technine jacket even though you're 5'3" 150lbs you are totally a poser fag who isn't steezy enough to be a park rider. everyone knows riding park is about image and has nothing to do with skill.
Just got this board today. Im 5'1 and im ridin a 149 and actually used too ride a 138 which was ok. I def upd my size. Can someone tell me if its gonna suck cuz im not used to ridin a smaller board
im thinkn bout getn this board, im bout 5'8 and 140lb with 11.5 boot and im 14 so im still growing, i want this board to last another 2-3 years and i ride some mountain to. idk if i shud get a 153 155 or evn a 158 mayb
I wouldn't suggest it but you can really ride any size board you want, but the intended flex will feel different depending how you size it. The Fix is already a 3 and if you size down to a 152 it may start to feel like a 2. As long as thats what you want then winner winner!
im 5'7 and about 120 pounds. and have a size 11 boot. i stay in the park all day. what do you think would be better for me, the burton fix or the burton hero?
well youre lucky in the fact that your light but unlucky with your guns you go below... You could ride the smallest fix with your weight but might have too much toe drag for the 149 and 152 but if you don't mind drag then you can get a little fun jib stick.
if you want a park board with those specs in mind I might suggest going with a wide board rather than get the fix. You could get a shorter 156 burton blunt and have more fun than getting the 162 fix
the Problem with the 156 or even 58 fix is that if you keep growing and at 14 you will... you will be too big for the fix's waist and weight suggestions pretty quickly
You could try one of the smaller sticks but you are more than likely gonna have some toe drag, so if that doesn't bother you that much then game on! The fix is a super fun board, can't argue that.
the smallest I would suggest would be the 152, you are towards the end of the suggested weight limit for that size as well but that really is the first size option I would suggest
This year I got the dominant in a 159. I like it, but it doesn't ride the mountain great. For a more all mountain but still park shreddable board would this in a 158 hold a better edge all mountain? Would I be better off with an X8 or custom? Thanks.
the fix is a park board and I would really suggest more towards the custom if you are looking for a board that can ride all mountain and still park...
I'm currently riding a Burton X8 and to be honest it rides all mountain very well. The only issue I have with the X8 is it's a little unstable at highspeeds and carving through skier made moguls, I found that you really have to sit on the board and squat more to stabilize the board. It's not a big change though. Overall the X8 rides well on the steeps, it just takes a little getting use too.
I just picked up the Fix today, I'm stoked about trying it out this weekend.
any board that has sidecut can carve... after that is depends on the board guts and the rider ability to control it. and this board is not really made to carve as much as it is to hit the park.
You could go with a 155 or 152. you are on the higher end of the 152 and right on the middle for the 155... both waist widths will work for you though.
you could buy either based on your weight but your feet are pretty big so you need to get some good stance angles to rock either size... the only diff is 3mm waist width
What length should I get? I have size 11.5 feet and I'm 173 lbs, 6'0". According to specs on Burton site I should get the 162 but seems really long for a park board. Will it be harder to butter and spin on such a long board?
well you are on the top of the 155 and could probably get away with it as long as you are riding it for park... take this guy out of the park at your size and it will perform like a wet noodle but hey, thats what a park board should do...
make sure that you put shoe size and weight into your board selection... height has much less to do with selection than weight and shoe size... burton uses weight as their primary guide to suggest board sizes, then followed by what binding size will fit on the board...
you can actually go as low as a 152 with your weight and boot size, you might get a little toe drag. If you are really only doing rails then again a 52 will be fine... if you want to take it up to some jumps and maybe stray away from the park then a 155 will do you better. just make sure you have some good angles or you will get drag no matter what.
im thinking about gettting this board with cartel est and jj boots but i was wondering if it would suit me if i like to play around and butter, hit jumps but also cruise around and bomb hills??
you can really ride any size fix you want even as small as the 149 but you might have some toe drag with it... deadly on ice? did you detune the edges?
you know you don't have to use the new EST bindings with that board? Burton supplies an adapter disc that will work with your bindings... so you aren't forced to upgrade.
its kind of a personal choice... I rode both and enjoyed them equally but the Fix was really fun for playing around and jibbing and bonking everything.
Im comin off a ride kink 147 and want a lil more room on tip and tail for presses and butters, just picked up the 152 is that a good size for 150lbs, I like a shorter board for spins but want a superflexy ride good choice? im pairing it with 2009 cartel est and the jeremy jones' boots i think I got an ill setup what do you guys think.
How is the flex of this board? Is it a good board for doing butters end the rest of the funny things? Is de Burton X8 more noodle? Witch board is the most noodle of all you have drivin?
The Fix X8 and Dominant all are rated as 3 flex levels but I thought the Dom was the softest but the Fix with its flat base tech makes it really easy to butter.
you would be at the high end for that size but you might be able to get away with it, the board just wouldn't react the way a 158 might due to your weight but if you are buying it to jib then you should be safe.
I ordered this Board with Cartel ESTs and I am been hearing this talk about foot size 12 getting a 155. I got a size 9 but got a 155 coming to me. Am I bugging? I been riding Un Inc in 156 and was cool. What do you think?
lets discuss torsional flex. when your stance gets too wide the board no longer reacts the way it was designed. Also with too wide of a stance your body no longer takes impact with your knees and ankles, it starts using your spine. While maxing out may be the fad longevity is more important. Your body has a natural stance that will translate to park riding and it will allow you to ride the rest of the mountain. None of my friends change their stance for park only riding.
sounds pretty gay to me, u gotta ride a bit wider than wut ur ridin with for sure tho, a bigger stance is an advantage in the park and free ride jibs, more control
well lets look at the Burton Global Team... Shaun White 23" Kevin Pearce 24" Mason 24" Jeremy Jone 24.5". Those guys are all taller thus a wider stance. When you max it out and T-bolt it all you might as well ride street rails. Again you cannot argue against Torsional control of the board. Once the stance reaches past that point you no longer have the true torsional flex. Come on out to Tahoe and show me your super wide stance I'll give you a guided Tour of any Northshore Mountain.
im not saying my stance is like the biggest stance or anything, i just have alot bigger stance than wut u have, it feels perfect for park and u have a park board, thats the only reason i said anything, all my buddies that go to my local mountain have the same if not really close stance as mine, they all agree its perfect for park
Its ok to have your own sense of style and ride what feels comfortable top you, but please respect the idea that others has their own sense of what feels comfortable and while you may not agree the reason why we all respect the originators of snowboarding was their free expression of style. And somehow that idea has gotten lost through the years...
i understand what you are saying, but if i had that board id have a nice wide stance to shred some park, looks like it would really be fun in the park, i was going to get the fix but im getting the jeremy jones again
you can use the fix with size 12 at 155 and some good stance angles, but you're gonna get some drag, but its a park board so its not gonna matter as much.
Yes you can ride a board with a waist width of 25, its gonna be a bit narrow but you can get away with it. And lucky for you the 155 FIX has a waist width of 25.2 so you toes should just touch the edge. Keep in mind that this all depends on how you run your stance. If you go 0 , 0 its a no go, but if you rock a 12,-8 you should be ok.
how does it do in powder

And lucky for you the 155 FIX has a waist width of 25.2 so you toes should just touch the edge. Keep in mind that this all depends on how you run your stance. If you go 0 , 0 its a no go, but if you rock a 12,-8 you should be ok.
