weird thing is i've tried a couple of video sources here in the states (actually here in Fla. by the way, shocking videos and cinema bizzare) and it's been really difficult finding some of the cool aussie films you've posted trailers for. the flea market and adult video stores in this area have sort of dried up a bit . underground films are a much harder thing to come by nowadays. any sites that you know of would be helpful (especially for "centerspread", that's been a real hard one to find..)
I suspect the old video releases are in the hands of collectors. The only current easier option for Oz is to import the Australian DVD.
As for Centrespread, I've been looking for years and it's practically impossible to find here, so I can't imagine what it's like elsewhere!! I'm sure it will get a DVD release eventually, so will have to wait very patiently for that.
the scene at the glam rocket concert looks fantastic!!! was this ever released in the usa? if not, it should have been. thanx again aussie road show for the great trailer...
This film did get a theatrical release in the US under the title '20th Century Oz'. That concert footage was real. It was filmed in Melbourne after the Little River Band played, and before AC/DC came on stage. They had just one chance to get it right!
Hi can u tell me where the location in the film oz (1976) where dorothy meets up with the 'good fairy' .. I know that building is in victoria but had no luck finding this info.
Hi. The country side scenes were filmed around Little River, Wallan and outer northern areas of Melbourne, but I'm not 100 percent sure of exactly where that building is. The train station is definitely in Little River, so that building is possibly there. Unfortunately old buildings and little towns are a dime a dozen here in Victoria!
Thanks so much for your info aussieroadshow.. I have googled and have only found that at least one of the scenes was filmed in poowong.?? (intro scene of the movie possibly)
Oh and the beach scenes... great ocean rd possibly?? its hard to tell..
I have finally found the location of that building ...Its called the "antique centre victoria' and its located in lancefield. Its had a slight modification but its definately the one.
It's funny you mentioned that because when I saw the building, it reminded me of the one in Lancefield! But I thought it wasn't because it looks so different now. I visited it years ago. It's a 2 storey antique place (over priced) with a side entrance now, and is apparently haunted.
I actually quite like this one. So 70s! Sort of a weird Wizard of Oz re-telling road movie in reverse. I like the hot, dry and dusty look of it. Authentic of our summers, and not going for the cold green 'European' look. Urgh, hate it when they try to do that!!!
Seriously, I don't know why this isn't on R1...Bruce Freakin' Spence is in this...

Living In The Land Of Oz was a 1976 chart hit for Ross Wilson.

By train station I'm referring to the old one that appears in movie just before she wanders to that old building.

Cool... But sorry mate, 1 last question..The beach scenes...any idea where they were filming?

@MrOzgooner
Unfortunately I don't recognise the beach areas in this movie but think they are somewhere south west of Melbourne.

Think I've heard of this. Glam rock, 70's hair and a groovy Mustang! Too much, wicked. Thanks for posting!

I'll look for this one. Yes from what you mentioned the landscape would not have a very lush look to it in summer time, I'll bet.
