I really dig this sunshine psych pop! Must be a subliminal thing since I was born around this time. Must have heard it while riding in a stroller or on TV.
I lived next door to one of the group members when I was 10 years old . their parents took a liking to me, and invited me over to meet the group cause they knew i liked music
The Peppermint Rainbow were an American sunshine pop group from Baltimore, Maryland. They formed in 1967 under the name New York Times, and played local gigs in the mid-Atlantic states before changing their name to the Peppermint Rainbow in 1968. They were signed to Decca Records at the behest of Cass Elliot, who saw them play and sang with them on-stage when they performed a medley of The Mamas & the Papas tunes
What a great group! "Will You Be Staying..." sounded like Spanky & Our Gang....another song here was so much like Mamas & Papas...THIS had me thinking ABBA. Great Sound! Love the Sunshine Pop!
@DoofsterDan This band, like a lot of bands were and still are, influenced by other bands. Spanky & Our Gang sounded like The 5th Dimension, which were influenced by The Mamas and the Papas among others... If anything, Peppermint Rainbow (in this song and "...After Sunday") owe more to the 5th Dimension for their sound than they do to Spanky, in my opinion.
Some Beatles influence here.

Wonderful recording. I'd think it was a UK band. Never would guess from looking at them they'd sound like THIS. Hmmm...

Anyone know where the lyrics can be obtained? The services I use for lyrics, tabs, chords, etc have NO listing for this gem!

This was one of my favorite songs back in the day - Walking in different circles is also as good - what ever became of this band?

The Peppermint Rainbow was pro-Vietnam War and served in a USO touring group headed by Bob Hope to perform for US troops in Vietnam.
