i used to be a firefighter and went to many DWI calls. I still get flashbacks from seeing kids, teens adults pass away. DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE! WHAT IS IT GOING TO TAKE TO MAKE PEOPLE UNDERSTAND, YOUR HURTING FAMILY'S AND DESTROYING LIVES!
All drunk drivers should have to go to a special prison housed with death row inmates where anything goes. If they live they get to get out after their sentence is served, if not, oh well.
I know it won't stop anyone from driving drunk but at least you'll know they are suffering too.

Ya know, My suggestion to anyone you ever meet who has a DUI or impared on their record and is complaining about how much it costs and the hassle it is...direct them to this video. There is no replacing these people who did nothing other than be in the wrong place at the wrong time. I can't even imagine the anger, pain and outrage you must be feeling, my heart and prayers go out to you. May God comfort you and may time take away the sting and help mend your broken hearts..
I'd rather be killed in a plane accident rather than be killed by a drunken driver or any road accident, at least it would happen so damm quickly you probably wouldn't feel anything.

im 18 and was in a foreign country when my friend was killed by a drink driver who was also on cocaine. he was on the wrong side of the road with no headlights and didnt stop. and i was millimeters away from him when he was taken. thoes images from that night will stay with me forever. when are we going to learn???
We should all be MORE pro-active and be better at stopping drunk drivers. I've known a person that drank too much wine at a party once, and he happily drove home. I could have stopped him. Nothing happened thank goodness, but I feel horrible for not trying to take away his keys when I could. I offered him a ride home but he refused - couldn't be bothered to have to pick up the car the next day.
@a1mint Good for you. I tell you, I can't even count with all fingers and toes the amount of times I drove drunk as a young man. Stupid. Just plain stupid. I thank God that I'm not the cause of one of these people losing their lives (or anyone for that matter). When I think about how I was 20 years ago, I'm flat out ashamed of myself. The good thing is that laws are way tougher today. I escaped a terrible outcome. I am very lucky to be here today to say that. I've grown up, thank God

I cried as a father and hugged my children tighter today.
