  • excellent

  • lol i like that motion

  • Why not just write: "For throws, go to Judo"?!!

  • That's cool. Now where's that friend of mine?

  • Search for lee two otoshi

  • Boom!!! Like a gun shot!

  • if you didnt have control of their arms would this work if your right arm was going round their head?

  • you guys realize he's a judo olympian right? not just a bjj practioner

  • I was taught to drop my (in this case) right knee to the ground and rotate my upper torso.

  • @19thaman79 Different throw

  • Mr Maeda, Gigoro Kano and Cia. would be crazy if they could see that tai otoshi is a BJJ tecnique!!!!

  • Damn, I need to practice Judo someday... It's very easily mixed into the system of Karate, which I practice now =P

  • HE IS GAY

  • bitch in the background needs to STFU

  • Not BJJ but still very good instruction.

  • AWESOME BEST PART 0:30 1:24

  • nice dude

  • good thing mentioning the weight on the right leg. few people get this

  • thanks, this will help me in my tournament .

  • Hand in the armpit is a great tip, I never could get Tai Otoshi in my Judo year.

  • umm.... help me out on this one guys, wat if someone has you in a headlock from behind? wats the best way to flip the guy over your shoulder?

  • @predetorbeetsprey24 Look up "Submissions101 Standing Rear Choke Escape"

  • sink down slightly and move out to the side. put your leg and hip behind the attackers nearest leg and scoop him up,with one arm coming around the waist and the other arm around the backs of his knees

  • You give very good instructions on your throws. I've been studying these throws for quite some time and haven't seen them taught as well as you do. Very good vids and great understanding of mechanics. If i'm ever in Australia, I'll have to look you up.

  • bjj is a form of judo that primarily focuses on Ne-waza ( Ground-techniques). Tournament bjj starts on your feet and awards points for takedowns. Gracie Jiu Jitsu teaches, as part of its syllabus , throws as well as referring to them by there Japanese names ( Classifications )

  • wtf this is judo. not bjj

  • @RhadeConstantine many including myself consider BJJ to be a substyle of Judo, since you're allowed to use all of the Judo throws in a BJJ competition, they cross-train.

  • @pcjudosambo ah..ok ty

  • @RhadeConstantine um.. there both the same but ya judo is more throws than summissions

  • uhh bjj? im pretty sure this throw originated from judo lol. but yeah, my fav. throw anyways :]

  • @Xx5h34xX B.J.J came from Judo, so obviously there's going to be a lot of the same techniques. Judo is superior for it's takedowns, but B.J.J is great for the ground game. It also has some good takedowns though, don't get me wrong.

  • @Xx5h34xX Mine too :)

  • @Xx5h34xX this throw is originated from traditional jujitsu lol . because JJJ is father of aikido judo and BJJ

  • @sk8sk8sk8sk8sks8 Um, thought it was jujutsu > judo > BJJ ? =P I don't mind if I'm wrong, just interested and want to know =P

  • @sk8sk8sk8sk8sks8 yeah your right, but did i say something wrong?

  • its a good throw but i prefer and always have harai goshi

  • i love that throw.

  • this is definetly Judo takedown and not a BJJ one.

  • it is pretty hard to do,though..You need very much strenght to make from your shoulders...

  • @Locpa1001 you dont need your shoulders actually... if you grapple on tight, and swing your upper body, he's legs will be sweeped automaticly, IF you hold on tight and turned him out of balance.

  • I love this move this is one of the most famous take downs in bjj history

  • good stuff

  • Watch Matt's right leg as he executes the trow... very important.... notice he straightens it at the last moment to hyperextend his opponent knee.

  • @garethtkd You're right "straightening" the leg is important to complete execution but it's not meant to hyper-extend the knee. This can result in serious injury.

If you have the right kuzushi ( off balance ) it will help you by slightly lifting both you and your partner which can give the extra edge you need to throw an experienced player. Many times when you execute tai otoshi the leg never makes contact at all. Esp. when executing a very low throw.

    Nice vid.

  • subbed :)
