man... This video REALLY puts drummers like me to shame!!! Fantastic execution of technique! How much of your ability comes from any formal training? Or is it all just raw, juicy talent?!
@skatefreakfilms lol wtf are you talkin bout? haha dude that cymbal above the ride cymbal IS a china :D of course it has a china sound, look it up on google: paiste dimensions 18" power china :D So how the fuck am I a dumbass?!?
I REEALLLYYY need some help!!! I'm recording my band over the next 2 days and I am using a Yamaha MW12 CX mixer and Cubase AI 4 Software. Could some PLEEEASSSEE tell me how to recording the drums so that each drum (kick, snare, toms, etc) is on a separate track while I am recording with all the mics miced up.
dude, that sounds really good. Do you have a mic kit? how did you mic it? my band's gotta record drums and I gotta figure out how we're going to do it.
if you dont have a kit use 2 overheads and mic the kick. sounds really good for low budget. make sure to make the over heads stereo and pan the kick in the middle
another question, i'm finding it hard to keep a good beat with my double, do you think it is easier to sit higher up (someone told me it makes all the difference in the world) if you sit lower you don't have as much leverage.
Awesome man! Sounds great! Oh and the whole face thing, I have the same feeling about myself, when I play, but to others it looks like your just rocking out and concentrating on the music. :-D
you can get sounds like that on the internet, just type stuff like "sub kick" or "sub bass" in google... i inserted a waveform of a sub kick into the track, thats pretty much it.
also, how did you record the drums with the guitars playing at the same time? Wouldn't the guitars go through the drum mic's too? I tried recording the guitar THEN puttin them through a pair of headphones, but then when i drum i can't hear the music through the headphones no matter how far they're turned up...
yeah i programmed the drums for this one and than recorded the guitars. then i went on recording the drums while listening to the guitars over a headphone, volume all cranked up, my ears still hurt =P
No MySpace ATM...we began playing together 2 months ago :D
In This Vid i used 3 Cheap-Ass Vocal Mics, one for Bassdrum, one for Snare and one "Overhead", and a LOT of EQing... I Use a presonus firepod firewire 8chan interface, and the software i use is garageband 09 by apple, with guitar rig 3 plugin.
I'll upload a newer version of this one in the next few days. Going to record the drums again, guitars again and an additional Bass guitar.
mensch geng, steht doch in der beschreibung dass der teil bevor der breakdown anfängt scheiße war und ich den deswegen in der audiospur draußen gelassen hab^^
ok i havnt listened to this song for the past year and a half and i still fucking love it:D is there a finished piece i can listen to?

Did you use a compressor on the snare? It's sounds tight and thick. Very good drumming. Are you using an SM57 on the snare.

@andr123w his drumming is so tight, it doesn't matter to me how he mics his kit. and Ive been producing music for years. Cant replace a good drummer.
