  • I have only ever purchased papaver somniferum blue seeded.

    and all of a sudden one year I have a patch of random papaver somnif. var. paeoniflorum. red ones.

    I have no idea where they came from, I never even planted poppies in this particular area of my backyard, and somehow red paeoniflorums started to magically grow. it's weird and I can't figure it out but I would imagine it may be an easy solution once figured out.

    any help?...

    "paeoniflorum" is a varietal of Papaver somniferum, and thus contains all the alkaloids.
