i picked up my guitar people its acoustic and if i play the lowest note with 1 finger on the top then the next note down with the third finger down then on the same string 1st finger twice but play them really slow hold them for a bout 2 sec and change the tune when you think its right. I don't think they are really comparable in that sense. The piano music in this version is beautiful and makes the song seem very sad. Tears for Fears version is completely different, he seems much more frustrated for lack of a better word. All in all the original is more 'mad', fitting in with the title. I prefer the original version personally but I wouldn't say either is better than the other - they are both very good in their own way.
