  • oh amiga...... will next gen ever learn from you?

  • Man, this song make me wish Lysander would finish A Blurred Line.

  • Thanks for this original version!!!!

  • I love this song. This one made me weepy and teary-eyed because it's a strong song.

  • Nice. What a great tune, loved the Amiga! :)

  • a rare youtube video with no thumbs down. Synth Masterpiece, Chris Huelsbeck is a god

  • I never ever played, or seen, or touched an Amiga. I'm brazilian and, unfortunately, when Amiga was making it's success outside, we were under a stupid law that only allowed the Army to have computers. So, Brazil missed the great C64 and the greater Amiga, of course we also missed a lot of good electronic music. I really dig game music and I'm glad my curiosity brought me to Amiga games. Even unable to play, I'm really proud of being one of a few brazilians to listen to this magnificent work.

  • I have spent many hours listening to this track, both sat in fron of my Ami 500 and on my PC using a TFMX plugin for winamp and its still golden. Videogame musicians are a dying breed, with cheap orhcestral scores and ambient tracks appearing everywhere. The catchy fun memeorable tune is becoming a rarity in modern videogames.

  • It's amazing how many people of my generation feel the same way listening to this music. We are united by something that is unexplainable. And the others just can't understand.

ITA.: E' stupefacente come tanta gente della mia generazione provi le stesse sensazioni ascoltando questa musica. Gli altri non possono capire.

  • buddy there's nothing wrong with this (no distortion)

  • @Nhirlathothep of course there's nothing wrong anymore, it happened almost 2 years ago, shortly after Youtube's processing... The problem was solved a couple of days later.

    Thanks anyway.

  • LOVE IT !

  • Absolutely BRILLIANT composing! In the middle, the channels switch and create that hollow under water effect..

  • bring this to xbox live and psn now please please please do your magic everyone and pass this on to all turrican postees

  • This is such a beautiful piece of music. It's a credit to composers like Chris, who are a dying breed that value catchy hooks and artistic integrity over pompous, self important orchestral bullshit that plagues modern games. Video game music has a certain flair to it. It's short, catchy, memorable and reflects the mood of the action.

This neo classical masterpiece, along with every other turrican track conforms to this. Modern video game music doesn't.

    This is terribly poignant.

  • chris has actually made a new orchestra version of this..! you can listen to it at his website at huelsbeck (dot)com

but yea, turrican II has most definitely the best game music ever made..

  • I remember hanging around in the water till the time was up just to hear this song :-))

  • Hihi mir ging es gleich. Ich kam einfach nicht mehr aus dem Wasser weil die Musik zu gut war...

  • Just a perfect music to turn it on when sailing or stuff... Chris is a darn miracle.

  • When I played the game as a kid I hated this song. But now it's like one of the most beautiful game themes ever. :)

  • This theme is so beautiful. I haven't played this game but I'm very familiar with Hülsbeck's works.

  • The rebound weapon for the confined areas and the multiple spread weapon for the open areas.

  • "Shield!"..."Laser!"..."Power Line!", "Multiple!", "One Up!"

This game was an extra weapon fest. I read that Chris is still active on PC.

  • I have Amiga forever and I have turrican 2 on it again and I have completed it again because it just a classic and classics dont die they rest in piece and everyone's hearts.

  • Universal Soldier is so bad

  • Great tune! Playing this or Universal Soldier, I always hear it in my head as:

    "Where do I go?."

    "Where do-o I go?"

    :D

  • Turrican II and Castlevania X - Symphony of the Night are my favorite 2D Games

  • I was 15-16 when i bought Turrican on my Amiga.I remember it was Friday the school week has ended i came from school, i took a bath and had in my mind this soundtrack , my mother then made pitsa , i ate and kept my coca - cola to drink during the game. What lovely memories...

  • A paradise in memories

  • Search the X-Form version of The Great Bath...It's fantastic!!!!

  • @Volthramios so true man!

  • Todays Computer Game Music is nothing compared to those Masterpieces! Absolutely Stunning!

  • except Nobuo Uematsu's pieces, they're awesome too

  • @RonTaboga . Damn right. I hate todays gaming music. Chip tunes are the best period. Who doesn't think so sorry, but you can go fuck it. Some gaming music uses movie studio quality setups and orchestras and crap yet doesn't even come close. Don't get me wrong there are some good gaming music of today but nothing you would listen to over and over again. Back in my Amiga days, I paused games and let intros play a billion times more than I actually played them, the music was awesome. Lets go back

  • @ZroDfects

I must also say that in the 90s there were also some very great realtime Soundtracks like Command & Conquer and Need for Speed. They were also Masterpieces i think. I remember also such Soundtracks like from the racing game Motorhead or the great Incoming Soundtrack as great, individual and unique.

All we hear today are those boring cinematic soundtracks. I hate them meanwhile!!!

  • @RonTaboga ... I hear ya... I call it art that you create game characters and backgrounds etc pixel by pixel and compose music sample by sample in certain places to create your beat or melody etc. and to be limited by it and create some mind blowing work was just amazing. These days 3D programs create the polygons and animated them while you take a photo of someone and use it as a texture. I do think it looks great, I prefer art done by hand as with Amiga it showed there was a love for it.

  • @RonTaboga the sound is warm hearted and full of soul, compared to some modern game soundtracks which sound sometimes cold, industrial and almost like too professional

  • Can anybody tell me if there's anything wrong with the Amiga music or if this is just my computer???

Because all the Turrican soundtracks I've uploaded sound very weird for about 3/4 days... o_o

I've the feeling that Youtube badly damaged all Turrican files from my channel until now... :/

  • You got a spare Amiga knocking around you can check against? :P

  • Well, I re-downloaded all Turrican soundtracks and it seems that it comes either from the Website (damaged files) or from my computer because this weird distorting keeps coming back again... :/

It worked very well the first time I put them (otherwise I wouldn't have 1000 views).

Maybe I'm gonna delete all Turrican soundtracks and hope for anybody else to upload them from a proper Amiga rip or something.

I'm sorry but I've no other alternative, this distortion is an insult to Hulsbeck's work. :/

  • That's a shame but as you say, if you're not happy then it's best to redo them. Nice work on all your videos.

  • Yeah, it's a waste of about 12 videos... :/

I appreciate your support anyway. Thanks. ;)

  • Awesome thanks. In it's original form :))) Spawned many a remix.

  • now i want to play Turrican 2 again, on the amiga emulator :3

  • Huelsbeck is a God!

  • Only one word can describe this beautiful music: AWESOME!!! :D
