This combine is featured in the July issue of Legacy Quarterly Magazine. This is the new Massey Harris Ferguson magazine that was just launched this year.
I've watched it three times. This is the best I've yet to find!! The sound of the Chysler industrial should be preserved in an "audio museum." Today, every motor is muffled so you can't hear the bark. I had an MF Super 92 with the last Chrysler 265 Cu. In. flathead industrial. I ran it with a straight pipe. Brings back good memories. Thanks again!!
Two details that are often overlooked by historians.
A: Massey-Harris was a Canadian company. B: Several Canadian 21 and 21-As owned and operated by Canadian farmers participated in the 1942-44 grain harvest. One operator at Mossbank, Saskatchewan, last name was Sutor, had 12 combines. They started near Dallas Texas, ending at their own farm in Mossbank, Sk. That was a great video!! The 21 and 21A are two of the most advanced machines in ag history! You brought back good memories. Hat's off!!
Len, you may remember talking to me a few times about the old Masseys. I've always loved the 21/21-A. In a very real way, they were the "Model T" of combines!
By the way, the Model 21 was introduced in 1941. The 21-A did not come out, until 1943, just so you will know.
I especially found it cute when the big Maximizer moved in closer to the parked 21-A.
