  • racial quotas don't exist and have never existed except to keep jews out of the Ivy League

  • The best qualified for flipping burgers?

  • Sure we will....when the Democratic Party and liberals expunge the racial filth in your midst: Sharpton, Jackson, the NAACP, the Congressional Black Caucus, and state/local Black Panther wanna-bees.

  • Lol. I was going to reference the Hoekstra's Superbowl as but I see by the top comment I've been beaten to the punch. Lol. Will the GOP ever stop this garbage?

  • Comment removed

  • TLM, just because you like quotas and 'negative action' doesn't mean that they are OK. Since the supporters of these racist policies are left-wing blacks and elitist white liberals in the media and the legal profession, I salute Helms for raising the issue in public. I suspect the GOP will be doing so this fall since Obama's racist Attorney General Eric Holder supports reverse discrimination policies and quotas against those groups he doesn't think are worthy of government patronage.

  • Helms was a civil-rights pioneer. He fought against the elitist bigotry of liberals at the ACLU, The New York Times, and Ivy League law schools. Gant was a nice guy, but he supported quotas endorsed by racists from the Congressional Black Caucus. This is a good ad for the GOP to use against liberals later this year. Hey, if the Democrats are stupid enough to support quotas and racists like Al Sharpton, they deserve whatever hits them.

  • @zl1vette427 Are you high or just really stupid?

  • @ncdave4life: POOR Jesse Helms; he spent $16M in '84 & Hunt spent $9.5M. Of course, Jesse's bigotry was hidden from view b/c it was not the YouTube age. Give it up.....Jesse won because (1) '72 & '84 he was lucky that the 'Pub POTUS candidate DOMINATED NC; (2) in '78, Ingram won the primary; (3) many from NC are small-scale bigots & tolerate bigoted officials (Helms, Ervin). What I find funny is many people that supported Helms think the man supported limited government......that's a riot..

  • @Zooview5757 The only racists are black bigots in the Democratic Party and their elitist white liberal patrons. I don't see a Congressional White Caucus staffed by the GOP. Check out the racial sludge in the Congressional Black Caucus -- Rangel, Waters, Jackson Lee, Lee, and Conyers. Hard-core racists all. Then there's the Detroit City Council -- a bunch of neanderthals and crooks if ever there was one.

  • It's just too bad that, once again, Republicans have to dumb down these issues to make it seem so much simpler and absurd than it really is. "They're giving jobs to bad minorities instead of qualified whites!" Yeah, right... And btw, what employer EVER tells a job applicant who ACTUALLY got the job if contacted applicant was rejected? You wouldn't even KNOW if the minority got hired or not, so what basis would there be to complain?

  • A racial quota is simply a NUMBER that must be filled, an amount. It's not a REQUIREMENT that every single qualified white applicant who's white be passed over for a black guy. But if two people are equally qualified, and one's white and the other's black, that might be reasonable grounds for using the quota. I think THAT'S what the law was intended for, not just to hand out free jobs to any ol' minority off the street who applies.

  • Btw, did Jesse Helms and his campaign have any PROOF that a less-qualified (esp. a VERY underqualified one) minority was ever given a job when a more-qualified white guy was applying?? Any STUDIES or empirical evidence? It's just hearsay, really. ASSUMPTIONS

  • Now, wait a minute... The racial quota law doesn't NECESSARILY mean that skin color is MORE IMPORTANT than qualifications, now does it? I'm pretty sure it said that race can be a FACTOR to help allow minorities to get their foot in the door, but I really doubt Ted Kennedy and even most liberals think just ANYONE who happens to be black should get the job just to "achieve racial fairness" even if he's way underqualified.

  • Funny how the "best-qualified" guy just HAS to be white

Because, I mean, no MINORITY is more qualified than a white guy... right?

  • "But they gave it to a minority" How dare THEY! Blacks should be dirt poor and work at Wal-Mart for $7.50 an hour. Lol

  • The irony is that in this case the "tolerant" are in favor of racial discrimination, and it's the racists who are against. The egalitarian cultural Marxists once again expose themselves as dishonest and confused lemmings who promote a sickly ideology.

  • Bill Hicks said this guy has skins of children in his attic.

This, my friends, is why I am here.

  • @TheBlackshirtHusker I didn't even know who Jesse Helms was 5 minutes ago.

  • Whats racist is discriminating against whites for being white!

  • only whites can be racist.

being against affirmative action and improving diversity via small quotas for universities is racist and discrimination

  • "Hands" political ad Senate campaign 1990. This is a controversial commercial against racial quotas for employment. The major premise of this commercial is that the black person that they represent is not as qualified as the person that is crumbling up the paper. He was re-elected in 1990 by 60% of the majority. He had no need to state the premise nor did he. This helped him get elected but upset and still upsets many people.

  • I was a college student in the Piedmont Triad of North Carolina and a registered NC voter when this infamous Jesse Helms "hands" television ad shook up the hornets nest a week before the election. It probably didn't make THAT much difference. Like Doug Wilder in Virginia and Tom Bradley in California before him, Gantt proved people have no problem lying to pollsters--especially when race is a factor. Multiple polls showed Mr. Gantt with a comfortable 8-10% point lead the week before the election

  • DURKADUR!!!

  • Jessie Helms was a total piece of sht. good riddance.

  • And who helped move all of those jobs out of the South and the US - your boy Helms and his cronies. You Helms supporters were played for over a generation as your jobs trickled away. Quotas have been outlawed and not administered since 1989. Read Supreme Court opinions. Helms did pass racist laws in NC. One day, maybe, you guys will see the forest beyond the trees. The shit is chess not checkers. Keep thinking them white guys are on your side. See your GOP current political leaders. Hilarious!

  • Barack Hussein Obama was the most racist Senator in US history.

  • @BebeBebe321 Care to give any proof? And nice job stating his middle name. :) Because everyone knows that his middle name is more important than actual politics.

  • @BebeBebe321 Hey angry white person, why do you resent blacks so much? Jealousy? Seriously, why?

  • There's no record of Helms EVER making ANY racist statements at any time in either his political career or his broadcast career.

Helms had some of the best-financed Democratic Senate opponents in history, with big opposition research operations, that tried very hard to find such "dirt" in Helms' past. They failed.

The "racism" charge against Helms was a smear, pure and simple... ironically by the same Democrats whose Senate President Pro Tempore was a former KKK recruiter.

  • Jesse Helms made a comment about the University of North Carolina back in his TV editorial days.....calling it "....the University of Negroes and Communists...." nothing racist about that, is there? I watched some of his TV editorials....he was a racist and segregationist. I wonder where the film of those editorials and the transcripts of them are?

  • @Zooview5757, Helms never said that. That smear (and many others) were inventions of dishonest Leftists. If there had been any record of him saying such thing, don't you think that Jim Hunt & Harvey Gantt would have used it against him in their U.S. Senate campaigns? They had among the best-financed campaigns & opposition research ops in U.S. political history, and couldn't find anything like that. They couldn't find it because Helms never said such things.

  • When it came to race, Jesse Helms was stubbornly color-blind, and he thought everyone else should be, too. Racial bias and preferences offended him, as they offend me. There was no black or white to Jesse Helms, his door and his heart were open to everyone, regardless of race. At WRAL he led by example, with a groundbreaking racially integrated team of professionals.

Jesse Helms was a great man, and a great leader. NC and America were blessed to call him our own.

  • tuk er der!

  • Jur... JAR... JYORBSSSSSS

  • ARR JERBS!!!! DEY TOOK ARR JERBS!111

  • DAY TUK AR JEEEBS

  • The Republican Party of today is NOTHING like the Republicans of the mid-19th century. In essence, their party has completely flipped positions.

Who in their right mind would actually try to say the modern Republican Party is about equality and civil rights with a straight face? Come on.

If we transplanted modern day Republicans to antebellum USA they would NEVER free the slaves, as they would feel it infringes upon the rights of business owners and be too costly economically.

  • Jesse Helms is pretty much like today's GOP....except he was more honest and up-front about his racism. Today, the teabagger GOP hides behind "birth certificate" nonsense and other code words.

  • I wish that NC was still making good men like Jesse Helms but its all commy and quoir now so I had to move back to Texas.

  • @ClickPanic

    quoir?

You should really learn how to spell, you sound like a fu--ing moron.

  • It's a nice thought to imagine Jesse Helms rotting somewhere in hell right about now.

  • Did Gantt oppose racial quotas? What's infamous about making racial quotas that work to the disadvantage of people with white hands an issue? Oh he showed a pair of white hands while talking about racial hiring quotas! I support diversity and even soft quotas, but it is not evil or verboten for someone who is white or conservative to oppose them.

  • I liked Jesse Helm through most of his career, particularly his courageous stance on racial issues. I parted with him over his backing of W.'s 'War Without Reason' in Iraq.

  • funny how jessie helms pointing out real racism and discrimination against a group of people is "racist".hiring because of race is discrimination

  • dey took er jobs!

  • @fmafreak586 You're too stupid to make your own jokes, so you have to quote south park.

  • @OldSchopenhauer wow excuse me? what's wrong with quoting something i think is funny?

  • Hahaha, check out Jbroks86 and jackdtroughton down there. "White southern conservatives are trying to free black people. They're the true anti-racists." Hahahaha. Yeah, you'll get far witht he American public witht hat one, dumbasses. The only ones being tricked are the ones that are dumb enough to buy it, i.e. white southern conservatives.

  • @genobeeno You're the dumbass, it was the Democrats that continued to push the blacks into slavery. Southern Democrats who kept them from voting, Wallace was a Democrat. Robert Byrd was a Democrat who blocked the Civil Rights Act. Democrats have done a darn thing for blacks or minorities but use them as political props.

  • @Jbroks86 Not so. When liberal Democrats pushed for integration and the CRA was signed into law by Democrat LBJ, Southern Democrats (including Helms and Strom Thurmond) bolted the party. Anti-black Democrats became Republicans or, like Byrd, changed their views. Here is a Newt Gingrich quote for you: "The greatest leaders in fighting for an integrated America in the 20th century were in the Democratic Party. The fact is it was the liberal wing of the Democratic Party that ended segregation."

  • @Jbroks86

Yes, Democrats did it...but they were the past's conservatives. So basically, when the Dems weren't conservative any more, the conservatives fled to the GOP. The modern GOP is the same as the pre-1960s democrat racists. They just migrated.

  • @kuwinsitall thats just a myth, most dixiecrats stay with the democrats, and lot of southern democrats supported new deal big government programs

  • @trueconservatie33

Nope. After the Civil Rights Act passed in 1964, the entire South flipped to the GOP. Nixon knew it. LBJ knew it. You clearly don't know your history.

The Dems used to be the party that racists flocked to. Now it's the GOP. The GOP used to be the liberals...look at Lincoln and the Radical Republicans. The Liberals fled to the Democrats later.

  • @kuwinsitall thats just not true, the republicans didn gain majority of the house till 1994, where they won the all the deep south seats. Louisiana didnt had a republican governor till 2005, georgia didnt have 2 republican senator till 2002. Arkansas still has democratic senator. J fulbright, Al Gore Sr, James Eastland, John C Stennis, George Smathers, Olin Johnston, John Sparkman, Fritz Hollings, and a lot more dixiecrat never switched.

  • @trueconservatie33

I'm not saying the South went full GOP, I'm saying that a majority of voters flipped. Have you not heard of Nixon's "Southern Strategy"?

Look it up. Electoral votes flipped majorly. There were plenty of Dems still in power for a long time, but doesn't mean that they owned the South any more.

The GOP completely dominates the South now because of that. You think Haley Barbour would be a Democrat in the Old South? Of course, he's racist. But GOP is racist now, not Dems.

  • @kuwinsitall The south didnt vote for republicans for congress till 1994, they voted for Republicans in general election mainly because of economic reasons, the rise of middle class among southern whites, they liked the idea of pro life, lower taxes, anti-communism.

  • @trueconservatie33

oh, and the whole Civil Rights Act thing....they didn't like that too much.......kinda lost the South for a generation for the Dems.....

  • @kuwinsitall theny why did they vote for jimmy carter in 976, why did they vote for clinton twice, why did democrats in south continuing get elected in senate and house of representative, why do they keep electing demcorats for governors

  • @trueconservatie33

You're right about Carter, but as far as Clinton--Perot split the right-wing vote.

Any dems left in the south are "Blue Dogs" these days...i.e......they're not Democrats in the New York, Wisconsin, California....actually "liberal" democrats.

Republicans call their sellouts RINOs.......Blue Dogs are the same on the other side.

Honestly, I don't even like the dems either. both parties piss me off, i just see the GOP as more radical, and the Dems as more centrist

  • Poor, poor downtrodden white folks.

    lols

  • @sherifffruitfly LMBAO!!

  • The colour of one's skin does not necessarily mean anything more than just that, so treatment of a person based on just that is illogical thus are racism, (solely) racial profiling, and racial quotas. While "under-hiring" for minorities is a factor, making them more qualified through edu. and a wiser, accepting society are the changes to be made, quotas are arbitrary, and thus invalid, and yes, could preclude a more qualified applicant. This racist undertone isn't the way to argue that, however.

  • regardless of Jesse "takes it in the ass" Helm's standpoint on it racial quotas are still an implication that minorities are inherently inferior and thus need a hand out, and that is pretty damned racist.

  • RIP Jesse Helms: In life you were an asshole, let's hope you'll be a better man in the afterlife.

  • As someone who supported Harvey Gantt in that election, I have to admit that the "White Hands" ad was *extremely* powerful.

  • Jesse was a great US Senator who wasn't afraid to call a spade what it was. He stood up for what he believed in, stood for family values and is missed by many. He lives in the hearts of millions who will carry on his legacy. God bless you Jesse!

  • @eagle311 Wasnt he the guy who blamed Aids on gays?

  • @angrydead u mean the guy who worked with Bono with AIDS, sorry. 2000, Bono sought out Helms for help for AIDS funding. Helms coauthored a bill for $600 million in funding. Get your facts right.

  • @Jbroks86 Ah yes charity, the thing every rich person does-still an asshole.

  • @angrydead doesnt matter what you care abt Helms. Got elected 5 terms, so more ppl liked him than hated him. And your conspiracy nut wishes you the world cared 1/10 they did about you as they did Helms. Its okay, Helms will still be a treasured hero, you will still be that same piece of shit wasting the breath of your home country the UK. 50 years from now you will still be a nobody and Helms will be still admired.

  • @Jbroks86 Possibly, but popularity has never been a indication of merit has it? Tell you what, you continue sucking off an man who's a cancer on the human soul by any stretch of the imagination and I since I also donate to charity I can state that which is factually correct on even ground to him? everyone wins...well accept people dying of AIDS anyway.

This is why I hate American conservatives....

  • @angrydead that made less sense that your last rant. SC sure enjoys ppl like you talk abt Helms and whether he deserves merit, and you know what they dont give a F if you think you think so. Difference is unlike Helms you didnt make no darn difference either to change the world, dont act like i donated so i helped someone, yeah you did, Helms helped millions. Either by being Senator No or anti-Communism. Or by standing by Reagan from Day 1 in 76

  • @Jbroks86 Possibly but then again I'm not a Racist, mysogonistic, homophobic poisonous shithead and enacted policies on that premise. I think doing nothing would be a step up from the good senator.

  • @Jbroks86 Yeah, more racist scumbag people like him.

  • One of the most racist Senators in modern US history.

  • @JamalDOA oh goodness another racist correctness lecture from a person. Were supposed to give minorities a job b/c of their color over a qualified white person as Helms uses. Admit you hate Helms b/c the man didnt apologize to scumbags like you and wouldnt be apologzing or bowing to Obama or being a RINO to the Republicans we have now.

  • @Jbroks86 You know, this is the past. No use in arguing over it. We have a BLACK President in the White House now who is unequivocally qualified for his seat, which is more than I can say for the despotic and racist Helms. Brace yourself, it's going to be a LONG ride between now and January 2017.

  • @JamalDOA What because you say he's qualified? You got your little panties in an uproar because someone called you out on your BS racism on Helms, you sorry brotha. Obama wont do half the shit for good that Helms did, of course you think he did since you think raping from America is good. Go preach to Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton. Helms blow them out of water too like he Carol Mosley Braun.

  • @Jbroks86 I'm not upset. My guys in the White House. You're the one with his panties up in a bunch---you and the rest of the vitriolic Teabaggers. In 2008 the American people spoke, Barack Obama was elected. They will speak again next November by reelecting him, and no amount of prejudice, bigorty, or hatred from people like you can stop it. Have a nice day.

  • @JamalDOA oh im upset, yeah that why our boys wiped the Dems clean in the House because of Obama. Sure keep talking Obama's hope and change, because thats all they have left. Also I see how you voted for Obama dumb, you cant tell us how he did anything better than Helms. Please try to explain w/o the words prejudice, bigotry, racism, hatred, Bush, war, Harvey Gant, Tea Party. Lets go educated brotha.

  • @JamalDOA also Im smart like Joy Behar because I use the word Teabagger. What do you go around teabagging people in other men private parts? Or you dumb as the idiots on the Views, the HLN, and MSNBC lineup? And yeah I will have a nice day knowing today its Reagan's bday a real POTUS, not a telepromter apologize for America, abandon her allies, tax hiker Obama. Lets wait for a smart 1 on how Obama's better than Reagan genius.

  • @Jbroks86 ...huh? I don't even understand what you're really rambling on about. But, if it makes you feel better.

  • @JamalDOA you dont because your dumb as the idiots who believe this ad is racist. Until you add 1 and 1 and realize that your hopeless to argue with.

  • @Jbroks86 It's spelled "you're".

And I'm the stupid one. Right.

  • @JamalDOA if that makes you feel better brotha pat yourself on the back. But please do tell me of the accomplishments Obama has over Helms i really am interested since you are the smartest person like i said without the words prejudice, bigotry, racism, hatred, Bush, war, Harvey Gant, Tea Party. If u cant face it you are stupid as Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Rev.Wright, Rangel. Also explain to me how we won back that House if Obama is riding high? Without teabagger and FOX News lies.

  • @JamalDOA and ur a dumb brotha enslaved to the Dems, to the party that enslaved your ass for years blocked your Civil Rights, voting rights. Call any black Republican an Uncle Tom. Listen ur the sick racist, unlike you I got plenty of diverse friends and plenty of African American friends who are Democrats. You have been brainwashed, you cant admit and will come back w/something stupid but your beyond help. A lost cause. Better luck with your next generation that they arent stupid as u

  • @Jbroks86 And, yes, I hope Helms is turning over in his grave knowing we have a Black man in the white house only years after his death. May he NOT rest in peace .

  • @JamalDOA ooh look the little Black racist like Gant. Helms aint doing shit of the kind. Helms is up there proud knowing he stood strong for the conservative values that pissed poor fuckers like you off. And BO will never knew how to deal with a man of Helms intelligence, Helms would schooled him on the Senate floor your stupid little savior.

  • @JamalDOA Racial quotas are racist.

  • Lmao this video is soo funny. Were people sooo stupid back then they could not see the obvious "race baiting". However it is clearly Jesse Helm playing to the "angry underemployed uneducated white male" that blames minorities for his lack of educational attainment, poor income and perpetual underemployment.

  • @rawdawg15 You mean that buildingblock of "conservative" conspiracy? Sure. GTFOH.

  • This looks like an anti-racist ad. The racial quotas and affirmative action are basically saying minorities aren't good enough to get jobs on their own, and that they need an extra advantage from the government.

  • what is wrong with this ad? it is in line with that historical dream that man is judged by the quality of his caracter not the color of his skin...but I say that today so called admireres of dr. King don't see it that way...there is no positive discrimination there is just discrimination...

  • Affirmative Action is a clumsy, ham-handed method of dealing with discrimination, but most of the criticism of it seems to come from racist whites (or at least the most passionate criticism). Affirmative actions benefits women more than it does minorities, and also benefits people with disabilities, but you never hear that from the anti-AA crowd. The fact is, opposition to AA has become a "dog whistle" issue meant to stir up rage amongst whites with resentment issues.

  • this is not how affirmative action works, sorry people if some one isnt as qualified they won't get the job, I can tell you from personal experience. I think there is a lot of misconceptions unfortunately.

  • @calico102c That's not true for racial quotas. A racial quota is a set number, typically a percentage, of a certain race, sex, ethnicity, etc. that the body in question (e.g. the labor force within a company) must be composed of.

Racial quotas never apply to the sciences, politicians, fortune 500 CEOs, etc. because everyone knows that quotas are manifestly absurd, and even the biggest supporters of quotas never apply the same principle to their personal relationships (friendships, dating etc.)

  • I'm not a Republican, and I don't care for affirmative action, but dammit Helms was a shitty person.

  • We miss you, Jesse! God bless you and everything you stood for. A true American HERO!!

  • Affirmative action is meant to give people opportunities that otherwise would have been denied to them. Minorities have a far lower level of income than most whites and therefore do not have the ability to invest in human capital. By giving minorities a job you make systematic racism to disappear. Just because someone isn't as qualified, a person who hasn't had the same opportunities that your relatively wealthy parents can afford you, doesn't mean that they cannot do the job as good or better.

  • @Aidtor that is exactly what it means dumbass, it means why bother learning when you are a shoe in b/c of your color, hypocritical racist liberal douche, you just love the feeling you would get by "giving" jobs, what a racist weenbag

  • @Aidtor Theft is meant as a mechanism for people to acquire goods which otherwise would have been denied to them.

See where I'm going with this? Your claim that AA "makes systemic racism go away" is laughably naive and unwise. How can you change the nature of a person through force? You cannot. You CAN, however, create bitterness and resentment, both of which FUEL racism, not eradicate it.

AA, by its very nature, robs truly qualified minorities of personal accomplishment.

  • I'm not seeing how this ad is racist

  • Seeing this ad as a kid is what got me interested in politics. Not to help people on Helms' side, but to put them out of work forever.

  • Whether or not you like affirmative action, this ad was not the way to do it. I'm not fond of affirmative action, and I'm a minority. I honestly don't think we need it. But the wording of this ad is very offensive. "They gave your job....to a MINORITY." God help us, there are minorities in this diverse country of ours? AND THEY DIDN'T GIVE A JOB TO A WHITE PERSON? Somebody call the fucking cops!

  • @Kamikazebutterfly The illegal enlightenment ritual of Jesse Helms a 33rd Degree Freemason shown that the 33rd degree secret is Tesla Earthquake No. 333 and was initiated with a predicted seismic event appearing divine at the time to an “idiot of the 33rd degree” -Mark Twain (Freemason)

  • @Kamikazebutterfly

They should've worded it "they couldn't give it to you because you are white" that would have been better.

  • @Kamikazebutterfly I don't have the same problem with the ad you do; but I would add that affirmative action is a tool pushed by liberals and segregationists to appease poor minorities. There is good evidence that affirmative action has a negative affect, because it decreases opportunities for qualified persons and it also results in animosity between ethnic groups. Affirmative action should be banned and the government should try to discourage all discrimination against anyone.

  • I seriously hope that Jesse helms gets raped by a big black cock for all eternity, and then when his family dies, he has to watch his children get the same, since I already know they're racist bigots themselves

  • Unlike you democrat haters, republicans are the true family values party. Some of them even have 2 or 3 of them.

  • im a black man and if jesse helms was a rasicst let him explain that to the living god on the day of judgement, but on december 15th 1987 in a speech before senate he spoke a truth that still stands so true today. in it he calls out the federal reserve for what it is a monooly and slavery. he also calls out the media and entertainment industry for the brainwashing of are citizens.

maybe he was rasict but he wasnt sleeping.

    WAKE UP AMERICA PLEASE......

    "this camaign against the

  • @do7your7own7research the federal reserve is the basis for the entire world economy. Without an insulated central bank any modern economy would not be possible. Learn some basic economics before you say things that are just plain stupid.

  • @do7your7own7research Wow! Is this your first attempt at communication? Please don't try a second time!

  • Jesse Helms was a filthy bigot and I'm glad he's dead.

  • This ad was was brilliant, thoughtful, and a winner. Gantt got destroyed in the election.

  • Jesse Helms, Fred Phelps, all the same: Republican religious fanatics with no brains.

  • @camhirtle Fred Phelps is actually a registered Democrat! What a fail!

  • @ThunderSooner2835 He was at one time in the 60s a registered democrat, a time when there was massive shift in the political structure, but his current philosophical leanings are more closely related to the fundamentalist wing of the republican party.

  • Republicans are racist. Plain and simple.

  • @wollysworldtv I suppose that is why they took on the democrats in a civil war to end racism... Republicans are for equal opportunity, quotas do not support that objective.

  • @joshdamons While you're correct about racial quotas not being in the spirit of equal opportunity, please don't think for a minute that the Republican Party is the party of equal opportunity. The Republicans have blocked, or attempted to block just about every piece of legislature that even hinted at equality amongst different genders, races, sexualities, religions, you name it. The only reason Helms pushed this ad was out of fear that the rights of white men may be trampled.

  • FUCK Jesse Helms

  • massliberal...

    you are a fool

its ok to hire blacks because theyre black?

i bet you are a closet klan member huh

  • I live in North Carolina and I remember that ad. Helms has been doing ads like it since he first ran in 1972. He died unrepentant on what he had done.

  • Aww is that supposed to hurt me cracker?!! Maybe if you weren't such a redneck nutjob you'd understand why people like this with this campaign agenda don't even win a primary today!

  • Oh please! This add was for well-known Dixiecrat Jesse Helms!.. who was up against an uppity "colored" who dared challenged him ...and who was also better looking than old frog-face. He had to play dirty! After all, Jesse was a younger version of infamous racist segregationist Strom Thurmond, who once tried to defeat the Civil Rights Acts with the longest filibuster ever, and who stayed in the Senate for years, until he was nearly mummified.

We aren't talking about admirable people here!

  • Wow, 1/2 these people are delusional. Harvard put out a study last year that documented the FACT that a white guy with a GED and a prison record was more likely to get a job than a black man with a 4 year degree and NO prison record. Oh, but racism doesn't exist in the job market right? Give me a f'ing break.

"those that make peaceful evolution impossible make violent revolution inevitable" ~JFK

  • I don't believe in a hell but I'm sure if there is one that Jesse Helms has himself a home there.

    Fuck racism!

    Fuck the Tea Party racists!

And fuck the YouTube racists on this comment page!

  • jesses helms is a scumbag, imso glad hes dead.

  • lee atwater, council of conservative citizens aka white citizens councik

  • @ CazK88 - No, George Washington's holiday is President's Day. Good job, knowing your American History.

  • @InjectingNumbskull

Idiot it started with George Washington, it does not resemble or represent only Washington idiot. It represents current and past presidents! Know YOUR history.

  • I think most politicians are lying pieces of crap. I'm sure Jesse Helms was, too. I also believe Affirmative Action is Racism.

  • Thank God Helms is dead! Only wish it would have happened sooner!

  • Jesse Helms still lives on in plenty of Republicans as evidenced by some comments on youtube

Disgusting pieces of shit who deserve to be killed, no other way around it

  • Jesse Helms just a disgusting human

We can only hope people like Jesse had painful deaths and the realized what pieces of shit they were in their final moments

  • I may be a Republican, but Jesse Helms was one of the most vile and depraved politicians of the second half of the twentieth century. There's a special place for people like him.

  • are u an idiot...jesse helms was a self-admitted racist, he didnt like anyone that wasnt white

  • @mavaniNYC thats what we love about him

  • Right on man, Jesse Helms was right. If only we had someone like Jesse Helms in the White House now to end Racial Quotas...the color a person's skin should be more important than someone's qualifications. I can't see anyone voting for that tax and spend Liberal Harvey Gantt.

  • Jesse Helms was a dillweed, and an embarrassment to North Carolina as well as America. I'm glad that asswipe is long gone. It's guys like him that gets the South mocked by the rest of the country, even though they are sometimes guilty of holding the same views as he.

  • Sounds like someone who believes in the "oppression of the ruling class" fairytale that is forcefed by the likes of Rush Limbaugh, Glen Beck, and Sean Hannity. If you believe that Affirmative Action myth, you probably also believe that there were weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, that the congress presiding over most of G. W. Bush's presidency was competent, and that Sarah Palin is a credible candidate. Who mentioned Obama? Dillweed.

  • @DrClaw77

I don't understand how it is a myth. Didn't you hear about the Sonya Sotamayor New Haven Fire Department case?

  • @rawdawg15

Why it is a myth. Is because a white person with a criminal record is more likely to get a job than a black person with out one, if everything is the same.

  • @Joeybsmooth

    You totally avoided the question

  • @rawdawg15

I addressed the question, my pointing out even with programs like AA . White people still have a a big advantage over everyone else. I know I do not type well , but how much clearer can I make it .

  • @Joeybsmooth

OK, but I don't use the opinions of people on the internet as fact. I disagree with you, and you really didn't explain how you came to your conclusion

  • @rawdawg15

Look up Google Race, Criminal Background, and Employment, than look up What's in a name-MIT. And this was not even way back when this was done .

  • @Joeybsmooth

So it's the fault of white people that minorities commit more crimes? Or you really think that everyone commits the same amount, divided equally, and it's just racism as the reason why they keep getting caught?

  • @rawdawg15

What in the hell are you talking about? In what I showed you talked about white people with a CRIMINAL record getting jobs, bypassing black people with none. But while we are at it a study from the new york times, shows that white people and black people do drugs at the same rate but black people are jailed more for it . If you did not know there is something called racial profiling .

  • @Joeybsmooth

That's kinda funny, because a study said that caucasians are ten times more likely to use hard drugs like cocaine.

  • @lmvalle

Also let's remind ourselves that the NY Times sure as hell didn't have a problem continuing the black inferiority myth when they were reporting on Ota Benga, so I wouldn't put much stock in them as a virtuouso source of objective reportage.

  • @lmvalle

See this is why I don't waste my time. I show people where they kind find peer reviewed articles to make up my statements something know one does on youtube and my statements are still questioned.

  • @Joeybsmooth

Nobody is questioning you. I'm questioning the source. It is important to recognize that an article-being "peer reviewed", especially one on statistics laced with racial discourse, does not make it fool proof. Vis a vis, the NY Times, as I've just shown. They and other journalistic companies even posted "peer-reviewed" studies on Autistic people and "crack babies" that were full of bullshit so I'll gladly reserve judgment.

  • @lmvalle

I discount anecdotal evidence, and peer reviewed evidence is a discounted so what you want to see, to prove that black people have a hard time than white people still today much less make when this was made?
